I would strongly encourage people of good character & conscience to never set foot in this cheap diner with unseemly management or God forbid, owner. We arrived for a midweek dinner & the place was crowded. A jovial bunch, we ordered but had trouble hearing each other as every table was full & the place was cramped. The waitstaff tried & were pleasant but looked dazed. Then I began to see why. The manager on the floor was going table to table with big smile & a welcome but was belittling the staff & was condescending. It was around 6:30pm when a pleasant looking lady walked in wearing dress attire & looking for her party. She sat in the alcove/entry. The name I heard was a non profit who were to have had a reservation. Perplexed, but staff tried. She was baffled but pleasant & got her phone to call "the organizer" but diner was too loud. She went outside. Upon returning, she looked baffled still & said they meet monthly at a different restaurant but saw no familiar faces. The Bistro 804 only had 1 table left but she "didn't want to take it from any arriving guests if there was a reservation or a date/time error". The young host tried with goodwill & she let them know the group may be at another location. Our table was next to walkway. The quite big manager was not easily navigating the tight space but was apprised of possible group reservation. He rudely belittled the seasoned hostess as he showed the lady the only table left. She looked anxious & commented the group wouldn't be able to meet here as it was the monthly dinner update meet & nobody would be able to hear amidst the crowded diner. She "needed to call quickly & divert the group if inbound". The manager aggressively acted like the new customer's observation was an insult & ignored her obvious baffled look as she was turning to phone organizer again with exit to the parking lot. The tight isle allowed only 1 person at a time but this manager physically shoved up beside her & hindered her ease of departure while he kept grabbing at her arm with nasty tone & expression and " Leave. Go. Just leave then. Go. Go. Go. Leave.". Grabbing her arm while impeding her ease of departure was clearly an assault on a baffled & pleasant lady. I hope she reads this review & reaches out. I had stopped conversing with our table watching with a sick feeling as the fat manager or owner could not handle the busy night & chose to rudely address their inadequacy by assaulting a new customer & berating staff. Turned out her last call revealed there was a sudden death in family & restaurant was in error by not showing or knowing of cancelled group reservation. A frustrated manager would have been okay but not the nasty presentation & conduct shoveled at the good willed staff & nasty demeanor to a new customer. An employee said, "There's been another person here looking for the group". Her confusion was worsened by the manager's inept direction & refusal to keep organized biz. All that & add the assault & intentional verbal abuse publicly demeaning her for his lack of efficiency. We'll never dine here again & I'm sure the non-profit won't be dropping $30 x 10 here. If she sees this review, "Dear Lady, YOU did nothing wrong & you were verbally abused...

I had the Salmon with wild rice and string beans. I give this place a 5 out of 5. Service was excellent and the staff love there customers so very much. If you are in the area, tell the staff you saw my review.
Nader Hagez opened to the public one month before the pandemic. Hagez and his mother, Virginia Hagez, both restaurant industry veterans, opened Bistro 804 in mid-April of 2020. They are located in the Tuckahoe Shopping Center.
I spoke to many locals and they all stated that this local bistro is more than that, it’s a community. I was told when locals were sick from Covid, the owners took food to their homes to feed them for a week. Rick a local said “ My friends and I come here weekly to catch up on our day to day lives and fellowship with one another”. In my opinion, the bar scene reminded me of the show “Cheers”.
The Bistro has a diverse menu. They have make your own burger night, ladies night and taco night just to name a few. They are a Lebanese family so they do offer some authentic dishes from their country too. They serve brunch on the weekends and making a reservation is strongly encouraged.

Read moreLove finding local businesses. This has been the most unique and genuine restaurant I've been to in Richmond for awhile.
Food: Delicious, unique, and simple. They have diverse nightly happy hour specials plus day time daily happy hour (see menu photo). There is a bar , booths, benches, tables for accommodation. Burgers, sandwiches, steak, wraps and more are offered. Prices are very reasonable.
Environment: Warm, welcoming, and great for casual, date night, family settings. The restaurant is not huge, it is a quaint place with great character and home like feeling so I wouldn't be surprised to have a wait during happy hour or just a social night. Two outdoor tables were present. On one half, there is a bar space area with high tables, a bar, and tables and the other side are booths / tables ranging from 2-6 people.
Service: Upon entry we were greeting by the owner who is a jolly and welcoming man. Again, great home like greeting and professionalism. The waiters/waitresses were all so wonderful and polite. The food came out promptly and we really enjoyed everything. The only thing I may say is my burger was a tint more cooked then desired but I did not deny the dish to any extent!
I recommend this great local spot. It has bistro vibes as in its name and I really hope it remains a classic to the Tuckahoe area. I will be back to splurge the happy hour and bar. They are a newer establishment so small hiccups were expected, though none encountered for my personal experience and I applaud them...
