I was shocked at the horrendous customer service at Catina Bakery. I will never be returning and would advise others against going here. My mother asked what the difference was between the #1 (cold cut combination) and #6 (original specialty) options. The only response we were told by the employee is that “they are the same” with no further explanation. The employee was rude, standoffish, and unwilling to help. When my mother asked for an extra bag to divide our 6 sandwiches into, she slammed the bag on the counter and continued to have an attitude about such a simple request which my mother kindly asked for. This place serves authentic Vietnamese sandwiches. If you want a good banh mi in Richmond, come to this place. The French bread is fresh and appears to be made on premises. The cold cuts are the real deal and the pate taste delicious. Service is a little brusk and it is cash only. Also the food is a tad inconsistent. One time we came here for a sandwich and the bread was overcooked, slightly more brown than it should be and dry. That didn't stop them from serving them as if they were perfect. It's pretty nondescript and a tad grungy but the sandwiches are excellent, especially for the price. The bread is on point, just that perfect balance of crusty outside and soft inside, and the veggies are nice and fresh. The bubble tea is also really good, nothing crazy but just your standard solid bubble tea.

Just make sure to call ahead if you're like me and hate waiting. For being relatively simple sandwiches they do take a few extra minutes compared to other sandwich joints, maybe about 10 minutes or so during...
