Cheesecake Heaven — Restaurant in Virginia

It really saddens me to write this as a food and cheesecake lover, but the cheesecake was so lackluster that my family didn't finish 2 out of the 3 pieces that we bought. I normally try not to waste food and will eat something just to avoid throwing it away, but this wasn't worth finishing. And that's really saying a lot for me and my sweet tooth. Unfortunately, we bought 2 slices of Oreo and it had a strange tang to it, which made it taste like pre-frozen grocery store cheesecake. The triple berry was a little better. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a cheesecake in my entire life, and I say this not to be rude, but just shockingly true after all of the hype I've heard about this place. I wouldn't want anyone to drive all the way out there to get a subpar cheesecake. It's worth a try if you happen to be in the area, but keep your expectations low if you have high...

Maybe the 5-star ratings raised my expectations too highly. I mean, with ratings at this level I at least expected fresh whipped cream. And a little more presentation love. We wont go into the fact that the absolutely required Graham cracker crust is almost non- existent. Its there, but minimally. Finally, key lime cheesecake should have a beautiful tangy twist in every bite- they missed that here too. So, I think I could pull off a better definition of key lime cheesecake at home or Harris Teeter. But, at 5.75 a slice...2 stars will do. The guy who helped me was a joy, so he boosted the star...

This is the BEST cheesecake I have ever had. It's all homemade by the lady who owns it and she brings it to the establishment to sell. If you desire a specialty cheesecake you can call her and order it. You can buy cheesecake by the slice or get a whole one. She even sells variety cheesecakes where she gives you slices of multiple flavors in one pie. You will NOT regret it. Cheesecake Factory is commercial. Cheesecake Heaven is everything you never knew cheesecake could be and then some. The drive is worth your time and the cheesecake is worth every penny...
