My buddy and I were traveling and hungry. I saw him notice Northside 29 out of the corner of his eye and then look in his rear view mirror when we had passed it. I said, "Looked pretty good, didn't it?" So we made a 180° turn and came back and were glad we did. By the way, if you should be fortunate enough to be waited on by the lovely waitress shown in this review you will get a lot of attention. The food was great. My buddy is doing a low carb diet and donated his French fries to me. I got the fish and chips, and since I already had fries coming she let me substitute both of the sides I otherwise would have gotten and instead let me have mashed sweet potatoes and applesauce. I asked for extra cinnamon for my applesauce but she at first misunderstood and thought I wanted it for the sweet potatoes and offered me maple butter instead of cinnamon. When I realized the mix up I told her the maple butter sounded good for the sweet potatoes and that I'd like the extra cinnamon for the applesauce. Everything was delicious. The maple butter greatly complemented the sweet potatoes and the applesauce was yummy. The fish was four large hand-breaded cod filets, nice and mild, and fried to a beautiful golden hue. When ordering I explained that I like to squeeze a lot of lemon juice on my seafood and asked for as much lemon as they could spare. No restaurant brings you enough lemon juice upon the first request, but this one did. All the slices, if reassembled would have been more than a whole lemon. The dinner roll came with real butter that was room temperature and easy to spread. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. If I lived in the neighborhood I would...

We’re locals and have had breakfast & lunch here probably a dozen times. It’s usually ok, nothing fantastic, but a quick decent meal at a reasonable price. We recently tried their $17 Fish Fry & it was one of the WORST experiences we’ve had at a restaurant in a while. Our meal was awful, along with the service. We were greeted in a very abrupt & unwelcoming manner by our waitress. Made us feel as though we were bothering her by being seated in her section by the bar. Our fish fry consisted of 4 pieces of beer battered cod, room temperature fries & Cole slaw. If you’re looking for a good fish & chips, you won’t find it here. Small, fish stick size pieces of cod were hiding deep within a very thick, heavy, soggy coating of batter. We had to peel the batter from each piece of fish, as it was inedible. Our waitress never came back to check on us, as she was too busy watching tik tok videos with other coworkers behind the bar. When we finally got her attention, she came by & we told her that this was the worst fish fry we’ve ever had. She smiled, said “I’m sorry” & cleared our plates that had piles of breading left on it. She never asked us what was wrong, because she obviously didn’t care. We will NEVER be back. For a country diner, the staff is very unfriendly the last few times we have been there & the food has...

We stopped in for dinner this evening on our way home and had the unfortunate experience of sitting in the bar area of the restaurant. The manager, Britrany, clearly was not having a good night. One of our guests is diabetic and proceeded to eat a few m&ms while waiting for our food. Britrany approached us in a very hostile and unprofessional manner and scolded him about having the candy. She was sarcastic and condescending, certainly not somebody who was interested in remedying the situation. She continued to make snide remarks AND had the nerve to text while working. She was also ranting and raving about having to change channels upon custimers request. Seriously??? What type of establishment would employ this type of person?? We were disgusted by the treatment that we received and would never come back here again. Being Greek myself and having frequented many family owned Greek restsurants, this is NOT the hospitality I know. It's insulting and should be addressed immediately otherwise you might risk having to deal with the folks at ADA. Food wasn't great either....STOP BY AGAIN..100%...

I've been eating here since it became Northside 29. There is always varying service and food. However today was one where I am just frustrated. The appetizers were great! The food... my fish was raw. It was a clear, glossy clump. The waitress didn't come by. The whole table was out of drinks and had to eat their dinner without a drink. I tried to get the waitress' attention and even went to the hostest stand (no one was there). She came by to ask about the check and I explained the situation. She disappeared again for awhile and we had to get her attention again for the drinks. While she was getting the drinks she asked if everything else was okay and o again mentioned the fish. She took my tray and they refried the fish even after it had been split open. It was given back to me as we were ready to go. I paid for the fish and I took the leftovers home however, they are going in the trash, there is so much oil in the box that it actually ate through the box. Also, not sure what the issue was but I was given 3 pieces of fish and other tables were given 4.

We stumbled upon this restaurant as we were headed to Dulles via 29 and talking about where we should stop to eat. This was the next place we saw and actually made a u-turn to go back and eat. WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID! Not only is it a very quaint restaurant but the staff was super friendly and the food was even more delicious. The menu offers a mix of traditional American and Greek fare, but kicked up a notch. And bonus points for serving breakfast all day. The portions are very generous and filling. My group ordered the fish tacos, fish Reuben, western omelet with a side of bacon and garden salad topped with grilled chicken. Not pictured are an order of buffalo wings which looked awesome. We are already planning a return visit!
