Edit: bumped up a star for the reply. At some point, I'll try again for the in-person breakfast, I'm just not an early-morning person, but if it hits like I expect and I think of it I'll bump up the review another star, I just couldn't today because the food was below my expectations of an otherwise 4+ star place and dish. I've lived nearby for 5+ years, with maybe a visit and a delivery once a year or so. If you don't arrive within an hour or so of opening (7am) on a weekend, every weekend, there will be a line outside, which given the fairly expansive seating is a review all on its own. To specifics - I'm happy I made it in early today, as I wanted to give my favorite dish it's best chance. Unfortunately, today anyway but not necessarily every time in the past, the biscuits were over-kneaded (or reheated via microwave - I usually test food when I order delivery prior to reheating if I'm planning on using a microwave, just so I get the proper texture) resulting in thick, chewy, rubbery crusts while somehow still maintaining an utterly tender interior. There should be no white-knuckling force required to eat biscuits without a knife, ever, and while 3 of my halves were simply rubbery, the last took significant effort with tools much less teeth. The gravy flavor is delicious, however the flavor is in order of precedence 1. Salt 2. Pepper 3. Meat/umami 4. Everything else, which are definitely the correct "flavors" and order but in my humble opinion the salt could be reduced in proportion just a tad. Biscuits and gravy traditionally being a "cheap" meal, it was good to see it coming in on their menu only slightly above their Mac and cheese. Mind you, the 2 halved biscuits are properly covered in gravy and come with two eggs which these days more than covers the difference between Mac and cheese and biscuits and gravy. Cleared my plate anyway (spent too much time on writing this review to enjoy the eggs but I snagged a taste and they're fine eggs; I don't otherwise mention them in this review as I didn't try them hot, but I'm sure they're exactly what anyone orders/expects). Rumosa, and their mimosas, are always exactly what I personally expect with breakfast drinks - they may be a touch strong for the weaker-willed, but no one is forcing anyone to finish their drink so get gud haters. Finished my drink. Lastly, what convinced me to leave a review missing stars as I'm convinced there is likely no better way to get the attention of the decision makers - this is a menu printed with such poor kerning that I had to say something. My reviews wouldn't make or break this place, it is clearly popular, but for the love of God who printed, and more importantly, who approved the text after looking at it? The whole menu is headache inducing for someone with dyslexia (or any other reading comprehension issues) sensitive to letter spacing (kerning). They need to be reprinted, and if the effort is being spent there, I'm sure there could be at least a marginal improvement to font-choice in terms of weighting and such. This is literally why I am leaving this review sans a star, phone shadow and centering highlighting the relevant issues if you don't understand keming vs kerning. Order for pickup or something lol

A family restaurant with traditional/suburban American dishes. I stopped by for a quick lunch before catching a movie at the AMC, sat at the bar, and enjoyed a Cappuccino and a Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Croissant. Both were good. The croissant was hot and buttery, the cheese gooey (went with Pepper Jack), the sausage patty juicy, and the egg perfect (went with over-medium). The sandwich wasn't overly oily or fatty, and I enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend it, if you're in the mood for a quick bite. The Cappucino was good. It's not a hipster café in the city or anything, but was very enjoyable. The place was pretty sparse when I visited. I noticed there were were a LOT of tables and chairs throughout the large restaurant... I couldn't help but wonder how busy the restaurant could get, given its location and lack of big venues nearby, aside from an AMC. Perhaps there are big events that draw crowds every now and then, but I found it hard to imagine. Regardless, the place looked clean and pretty well kept, and the service was very friendly based off my brief, dine-in experience. I'd recommend a visit and would probably go again, if I come back to the area. Also, the Loudoun Metro Stop is a 5-minute straight walk past the circle from this location (kind of hard to miss it). That said, I still don't see this place actually filling up ALL the tables I saw when I came by. I could be wrong. The sandwich and coffee were simple and enjoyable, and get my recommendation. Overall, I spent a little over $22 for the sandwich, coffee, and tip, which is a little pricey, but the experience was good. 4/5 stars from me. 👍

My visit to the Famous Toastery of Ashburn in Virginia’s Loudoun County was a delightful journey through classic American breakfast and brunch offerings, with a cozy ambiance and attentive service that added to the charm. The warm maple syrup served in a glass bottle was a memorable touch, enhancing the sweet and savory brunch dishes. The eggs benedict with ripe avocado slices and a rich hollandaise sauce was a harmonious blend of flavors. The side of breakfast potatoes was well-seasoned, adding a satisfying crunch. For a vegetarian option, the veggie burger with pesto pasta salad was hearty and flavorful, with the pesto offering a fresh, herby kick that paired well with the well-crafted burger. The atmosphere in the toastry was inviting, with natural light spilling in, creating a relaxed setting for families, friends, and solo diners alike. The warmth of the space was matched by the service, with staff bustling about, ensuring that each guest’s experience was pleasant and their coffee cups never empty. Overall, the experience at Famous Toastery of Ashburn was worth writing home about. The bill came to $136.13 for a party, which seemed reasonable for the quality and quantity of food, including the tip for excellent service. Whether you’re local or passing through, make sure to stop by for a meal that will leave you feeling satisfied and eager to return. Rating: 4.5/5 stars

I read through the reviews before coming here to get an idea of what to expect. I honestly thought this was going to be my new breakfast spot but I was wrong. My boyfriend and I came here for the first time today and received horrible service from our server. Her name is Wanda and from the moment she saw us her face expression changed completely. Again, this was our first time here and don’t know how the employees work here. Our server did not explain anything to us and just asked what we wanted to drink, brought them to us and disappeared for a good 15 mins. When we saw her again she was helping all the tables around us and not once looked our way. We noticed that the other tables she was serving received some bread and the whole time we were there we didn’t receive any or even asked if we’d like some. We were finally able to get her attention to take our order. We had questions on the meals served here but because she had such a horrible attitude we didn’t feel comfortable asking. Once someone brought our food, we saw her again going around to the other tables asking how they were doing and not once did she come by to ask us. Then when we were close to finishing our food she kept coming to our table asking if she were done, and making us feel rushed and as if she was trying to get rid of us. At this point we asked another server for her name and asked if any bread is brought to the tables in the beginning. She confirmed with us that we should have been offered bread at any time during our meal (because it may not have been ready yet), but it was definitely ready if Wanda was bringing it to the other tables, who were sitted after us. Maybe we looked younger than we are and she assumed we were some teens going out to breakfast and weren’t going to tip her well so she just refused to serve us well at all. It sucked to received that kind of service and I will be letting people know about the horrible service here. We really expected more from this place. I hope the owners or manager speaks with her about this. I would hate for her to continue treating certain customers badly. We’ve had bad service before but never once been ignored. She missed out on a great tip and given a bad review.

Keep in mind, we’re not the type of people to complain, we understand people have bad days, but she really made us feel uncomfortable and neglected. Her bad energy even took my appetite away and put me in the worst mood. I will stick to eggpectation...

Health and Allergy Concerns I have been visiting Famous Ashburn Toastery for over a year now, I have brought countless people over for brunch. Unfortunately the quality in service has really gone down shortly after the pandemic and my last experience was awful. I brought my my moms family friends as of recently that were visiting and a few of them were strictly vegetarian, one of whom gets low blood pressure drops and rashes from certain meats. After eating most of our brunch, a piece of ham was found inside the food under the omelet and spinach that was ordered. We are very easy going people, and after bringing up the issue with our server she just looked at us smiled and said “well that’s unfortunate”. We were surprised that she never once said or offered to bring up the issue with the cook / manager to avoid the mistake or stated that they would be more careful next time. I should have asked for her name however she was a young lady with black glasses. She didn’t even offer any sort of compensation until we talked to her again. We had specifically told her before ordering how important it was that we had a dietary restriction of NO meats. She didn’t care for our health concerns and only after reminding her in the end about our allergy / dietary restriction that she took which I believe was $4 off the bill

Although our allergy is not life threatening which we did mention to ease the tension, we did however inform her that this could be an issue for someone who may have strict dietary/health concerns. Her response was “yeah fortunately that had never happened with us” she smiled rudely and walked away. She even avoided us at times for the remainder of our stay. All of it seemed very unprofessional and rude. At first I thought she was socially anxious… however these servers need to be trained to do better to bring up concerns like this especially the younger ones.

In my opinion, this isn’t a safe space if you have any allergy concerns I do really enjoy this place and think it’s one of the best, but unfortunately I will not be recommending or attending anymore due to my last experience which was both concerning and embarrassing on my part (as I had highly recommended it) and it didn’t meet the standards for my guests. Very very...
