Fatboy's Grill & Steamshack — Restaurant in Virginia

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Let me start out by saying I am not a Karen and I very seldom if ever complain or write a bad review but this experience warrants one. We had the absolute WORST waitress. All of our food came out at separate times and it was all cold. She was standing around talking and apparently not being attentive to the kitchen. My food was ice cold, as was my brother in laws, and my sisters. It took over 45 minutes to get the food to begin with and then each meal came out about 10 minutes from each other and my niece's never came out at all. Every other table was getting their food before us when they came in after us. My niece was "waiting" on a burger when 3 other people were served their burgers before she got hers and they came in after us. Come to find out "the kitchen forgot to make it" ... so then my niece gets served a RAW and I mean raw burger not "pink" but RAW! She bit into it and the meat was cold and blood from the meat ran down her chin. It was like they tossed it on a super hot grill browned the top and bottom quickly. I tried to get the waitress yet again and she ignored us so I got the manager. The manager seemed extremely terrified that the burger was as raw as it was and she was super apologetic. She was the only good experience. She offered to make my niece a new burger which they did but it went to the dog when we got home because she was so grossed out from the one prior she couldn't eat it. The waitress never asked if everything was OK, never asked if we needed anything, never refilled drinks, and the list goes on, neverapologizd. I've been a server most of my life so I understand things happen but this goes above and beyond things just happening. I wish I could remember her name but it starts with a "C" she needs to be fired. The burger aspect isn't truly what made this the worst experience ever it was her. The saving grace was the manager. She was polite and took my niece's meal off and took some money off the rest of the bill. I don't mind paying for good food and service but still paying over $85 for cold food and crappy service was a bit much. Smelled upon entering, so much so that my girls 8 and 12 didn't want to eat there, it was like a mix of bleach and dirty mop water. The area to the right is dirty, floor boards and the area to the far back is a mess. I don't know why I didn't choose to leave when seeing all of this, especially since it tookcose to 10 minutes to get a drink order in. The bathroom floors were sticky and also dirty. I can omly imagine what the kitchen looked like. My daughter ordered 10 boneless wings she only ate 3, they weren't real chicken instead processed meat, and tasted terrible. McDonald's chicken nuggets were far better tasting if that tells you anything. I got nachos, all you could taste was the cheese sauce. My husband had a burger, which he said the only thing that made it taste good was all of the ketchup he had on it! Waitress was inattentive, never came to ask how things were, the kids meal didn't come out with fries and that took 10 minutes by the time we got someone's attention then she had to ask our waitress if it came with fries? We tried this place randomly while in the area and we really wanted to like it - we ordered teriyaki steak bites for an appetizer and they were ok. The dry rub seasoning was a little excessive and we had to dip them in the teriyaki sauce.

I got a Philly cheesesteak and it was pretty good. The mac and cheese was not good. Dry and bland. My husband got a burger and fries. The burger appeared to be a frozen patty they cook and not fresh beef and it wasn’t good and he didnt like the fries. They were pretty busy and so service was kind of meh though it did appear our server was working both sides of the restaurant for some reason. Some of the attire of servers was questionable.

I did look at their adult drink menu and the drinks looks good and the prices seemed fair but we weren’t there for that and I was the driver.
