We stopped in on a Sunday at 1:30 pm to get a hamburger combo and chicken sandwich to go (w/ beverages). Though there were customers standing around, we were able to walk right up to the cashier and order. We were then handed a number on a laminated card stock and asked to wait.
It was only then that we noticed at least 10 other customers with numbers, standing and seated at tables, waiting for orders. There were about 20 customers in the store, and maybe half dozen cars in the drive thru. Not exceptionally busy for a Sunday afternoon.
Unbelievably... we had to wait almost 30 mins for our basic order. Other customers also waited as long. (I believe a couple asked for refunds.)
There seemed to be adequate staffing and food supplies, yet the staff didn't seem to care about the customer wait time. If they did, they certainly didn't show it.
The woman who eventually brought orders out from the back, would tell the customer who just got their food, "sorry for the wait" as she walked away. Hardly sufficient given the length of the wait -- at a FAST FOOD restaurant!
Adding insult to injury, I attempted to phone the corporate toll free customer service number on the very faded sign on the door. I got a recording saying the customer service office is only open during business hours, M-F. No option to leave a voice message either.
I called again today (Monday) to complain about our experience on Sunday, and got a slightly different recording saying, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, no Customer Service Representatives are available." I would have liked to leave a voice message, but that wasn't offered... the phone disconnects after the recorded Hardee's outgoing message.
Ridiculous this franchise is allowed to continue operating like this. Hardee's corporate should be ashamed.
This location is right off I-85 so I strongly suspect many/most customers are in transit and anxious to get back on the road. We were on our way to NC (from Richmond) for a function. We ended up being a little late in NC as a result of the inept management of...

After coming here regularly over the last couple months I've been accustomed to waiting a very long time. I have legit waited 30 mins to make it through the drive thru on previous days. I don't mind being patient.
Today was the final straw for me. I wanted a biscuit sandwich, which they serve until Noon. I arrived at the drive through at 11:42. With 3 cars between me and the ordering speaker I thought I was safe. At 11:58 it was my turn at the speaker. The lady said "Welcome to Hardee's, please hold" then didn't come back to take my order until 12:05. Not an exaggeration, these are actual times. When I asked for a biscuit, she told me it was past time for ordering breakfast. No apologies for making me wait. No "let me check with my manager and see what I can do". Just "too late"
I have learned that going inside to order is not any faster. There's regularly a line of 5+ people waiting to place orders, and it takes at least as long as the drive thru. If you go inside, you can at least see the pond of water on the floor from the broken ice machine!
So if you really need that buttery biscuit, make sure you can spend AT LEAST 30 mins to order and...
Read moreI went threw the drive thru they were very nice and friendly. She seemed a little pushy trying to give me my food bags and a tea to drink and a milkshake too. Other times I've been there it wasn't like that. That's why I go back there. There chicken is usually pretty good but I must have gotten the end of a batch or they over cooked it some. It was a little tough this time. I like there mash potatoes and gravy Mac and cheese and green beans. The biscuits are usually pretty big not always the freshest unless you just happen to come at just the right time. But they are still good biscuits. The chicken I got the other day was like they picked the smallest pieces with the least amount of meat on them something I never had gotten from them when getting there chicken meals. They are almost as expensive as KFC now with there chicken meals so you might as well go to KFC only difference is you get 1/2gal sweet tea at Hardee's with there meal. I don't know if KFC offers a meal deal like that. I haven't been in so long. But they are really close in prices that's for sure. KFCs regular chicken is easier for people like me with no teeth to earth skin and meat. Hardee's I can't most of it is to hard to chew and eat. But I still love both...
