I've tried about half the menu. Here are a few outliers that kept bringing me back:
Apps: 30 Chorizo Queso 33 Cheese Dip 265 Nachos Mix (split with someone or order as meal) 44 Coctel de Camarones (split with someone or order as meal)
Entrees: 173 Pollo con Chorizo 90-94 all the fajitas are great and you will probably have leftovers 104 Chile Verde 11 Huevos Rancheros (Ranchero sauce is very spicy but good)
Desserts: 135 Xangos (don't be thrown off by the description saying "burrito". Just try this. Its only a couple bucks. You are welcome in advance for the recommendation!)
Breakfast: 11 Huevos Rancheros (Ranchero sauce is very spicy but good. It doesn't show on their breakfast menu, but they can still make it) 310 House Burrito (small but good. I'm a big eater so I add one to almost every breakfast I order.) Everything on breakfast menu has been good.
I would rate most the food 3-4 stars, but the entire experience is an insanely good value for how inexpensive everything is, which is why the restaurant gets 5 stars. Management cares and it shows. Balta(sorry if I spelled the name wrong) is great about checking on each table. The place is clean. The staff is friendly. The plates come out hot and quick. They always welcome you back on the way out - "Hasta Manana... See you tomorrow!" They strategically toss a few common Spanish words into the conversation to add to the experience/theme. They are good about clearing dirty plates out of the way when you are done. Good about refills on drinks. Bar drinks come out in frosted mugs. Free chips and house made salsa. What you get for how much you pay is 5 stars -...

A tucked away restaurant not far off 234, Hector's delivers on quality food, outstanding service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Hector happened to be there upon my visit and I couldn't have wished for anyone else. He is pleasant, kind, social, and knows how to talk to his customers. One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to.
The long:
I visited Hector's for the first time tonight. As it was near closing time, I decided to call to make sure the kitchen was still open. The man who answered the phone was none other than the business owner himself, Hector. He was very kind and patient with my demanding questions regarding the menu, even going so far as to make a choice recommendation, the enchilada supreme. Upon arriving home, food still warm by the aluminum container, I disassemble my package. One container of enchiladas and, to my surprise, a bag of chips and salsa. This was pleasing as it told me that Hector's offers the full experience, whether at home or dining in. I can't tell you how many places would charge for what they included for free. Regarding the food, the flavor was simple enough to comprehend and complex enough to enjoy. It had a nice touch of spice without overdoing it with sauce. The chips were not the best but enjoyable nonetheless, and the salsa was tasty. Overall it was a pleasant experience that I would...

We came in and we're greeted in very a friendly manner. The dining room has large booths in the center of the room and tables against the walls. Decor was fine. We were brought chips and salsa immediately (mild salsa only offered, not sure if they have anything else).
I had chicken suiza enchiladas and my husband had a combo with a carnitas taco, cheese enchilada, and chile relleno. The enchiladas suizas were pretty good - the chicken was moist. No sour cream though, which is odd. The chile relleno was tasty. The taco and cheese enchilada were adequate. Everything was a bit on the bland side for our tastes.
Be forewarned that all the margaritas have fruit juice in them. I wanted a plain regular no-frills margarita (tequila, lime, and either sweet and sour, margarita mix, or my preference - fresh lime and agave syrup) and was told they couldn't do it. The options were with orange juice, grapefruit juice, or sangria. How weird is that?? I suspect they only have pre-made, white wine margaritas.... So I settled for a Coke. They have Mexican Coke, so that's good. But seriously. Either have made-to-order, real margaritas, or don't call what you do...
