Not sure where to start.. maybe with the fact that I love the vibe of the place for starters, Jen is awesome! I love the fact that 3 generations of women are in there making it happen.. now to the food.. ive been looking for something amazing to fill a void since my last favorite spot closed (meaning shes my new favorite).. im super picky about my food choices and its really hard to get me excited about pizza.. until I experienced Jens spot I was only left with pizza that pretty much all tastes close in comparison.. there are good spots.. but nothing that gave me a "wow" factor... Jens did that for me.. I knew first bite that I found my place.. a place that would make my heart warm.. totally not being dramatic.. great pizza brings me back to a happy place in my life.. now I can experience it once again!
The traditional red sauce pizza is next level.. even the pepperoni is next level delicious... now the white pizza is great, I think of it more lile a really good garlic bread in a pizza form.. but better.. its not the traditional white pizza.. I think having a big red pizza with a smaller white to eat with it would be the go to! The garlic knots were also amazing! Next on my list to try is her Sicilian.. totally excited for it. You cant go wrong with Jens! Definitely dont wait as long as I did to give it a shot! MAKE THE TIME!
And no Jen didn't bribe me to make this long of a review 🤣 I told her I was going to be very honest about her pizza.. this is it! I may even go today and bring...
Read moreWe have passed the restaurant many times in its former iterations, and based upon a few of the reviews we saw, we decided to stop in last week and get carry out. First off the service was very friendly and it was easy to order, something that I have found to not be the case when I want a pepperoni pizza but all the pepperoni on one half (not half Pepperoni) at most establishments. The place itself was very clean and inviting.
The pizza had a thin hand tossed crust, and I got the 16 in. square which was definitely enough for two meals for my wife and I. While thin, it has a nice chew, with just the outermost edge being crunchy. There is a comforting yeast flavor that reminds you this is homemade not some restaurant service product. The tomato sauce has a nice herbal flavor with slight acidity and a VERY light sweetness, not really sweet like the other place that has square pizza (not knocking them, I get a hankering for it now and then, too LOL). The pepperoni and cheese were also really good quality and tasted great. One amazing aspect of this pizza was how well it reheated. It was literally better than most pizzas are that come hot from the oven when we reheated it the next day.
I’m hoping this place is here to stay and I look forward to trying the Sicilian pizza as well as the other menu options. I’m not sure if they deliver or not but I would have no problem leaving a good tip for whoever...
Read moreThe hardest thing was trusting the reviews. From the outside appears to be mystery on how the experience is going to be. The inside clean. If I can go somewhere and it’s clean and doesn’t smell like a wet mop then We have lift off Houston. The food well….that was pleasant surprise. I’m a Debby downer by nature and suspicious of my own reflection. The food was flavorful. Enjoyed very much the medley of flavors. The cannoli what a treat. everything is great but the cannoli is simply in its own class. Let’s talk price that was average. No need to touch much on that. We all know inflation is real and they have a business to run and that’s understandable. Not over the top prices fair to today’s standards. Now let’s talk about the service and ambiance. CHEERS. Take a break from your worries where everyone knows your name. I saw regulars come in and it’s was like NORM. This is Cheers. A real Gem. If you have gotten to this part of the review then you have come to two realizations. One I like the sound of my voice. Guilty. Two you have to try this place and see/experience it...
