my 1st experience with Joe Beans (and probably my last)
per internet it says ... "Joe Beans Devilish Blend" refers to a dark roast coffee blend offered by Joe Beans coffee shop, known for its intensely bold flavor and often described as having a very dark, almost "devilish" roast profile; essentially, it's their strongest, most robust coffee option.
I ordered 2 boxes of the Devilish Blend PODS it was plainly listed on the front of the form available in PODS on Rustburg Middle School's fund raiser. Several days after paying I got a call from someone saying that it's really the "House Blend" available in PODS that would be the same or most like Devilish Blend.
Well I got my POD boxes. They're marked House Blend MEDIUM roast (remember Devilish Blend said it was a Dark Roast). BUT when the House Blend comes dripping out of my Keurig there's no "COFFEE" aroma or whiff of coffee into the room because it's weak coffee, the dripping looks like the color and clearness of iced tea - not even close to black coffee, and literally it tastes watered down. Well I have paid for them, I have them and I am going to use them... but it’ll probably be...
Read moreWhat a busy place! No wonder - as we were leaving Lynchburg we had a hankering for good coffee (not Starbucks), and this appeared to be the place - always a little gunshy about trying new coffee so we ordered smaller sizes that we instantly regretted! I had a very traditional Vanilla Latte and it was perfection! I hate that you guys are nearly 300 miles from my home and my last family member just graduated from the University nearby - but, if I am ever in your area you’re going to see me again. I am dreaming Joe Bean’s and have talked it up so much the last few days!
Y’all were busy, but everyone in that little “hut” was hustling and bringing their “A” game - no eye rolls, tsks, under the breath remarks for unsophisticated pronunciation of a coffee order - or dealing with pouty baristas judging everyone that comes in for a brew. What a relief to find great coffee served with a smile and...
Read moreDon't let appearances fool you, they serve a great cup of coffee here! The first time I stopped by I was desperate for some caffeine, I had a very long drive ahead of me, and I had accidentally passed the exit for Starbucks. I laid eyes on this little coffee shack and thought to myself, "well, I guess it's better than nothing" but I was delightfully surprised when I was greeted by a kind, positive, upbeat barista who welcomed me at the drive through window and helped me through the ordering process. Not only was their coffee delicious but the service was quick and courteous! The next time I was in town I purposely drove past Starbucks so that I could make another pit stop at Joe Bean's! Second time was just as good! The moral of this story, definitely go check it out! It might not be very glamorous looking but their coffee is great and so is...
