In February of 2018 (aged 19) , I started working at kabob zone doing pretty much everything. I was working from open to close, help set the place up, and prepare the food before opening. I worked 60 + hours and the only day off I received was a Tuesday which the business was not opened that day of the week. The other employees that were working less hours than me were getting paid more money than I was and one of them was a huge back-kisser. The young lady that works upfront is the owner’s daughter. The older gentleman that works there is the owner of that establishment. The older lady that goes there from time to time is the wife of the owner. At first I thought that they were treating me well as I was still young. But as time went by, I started to feel sluggish and whenever I tried to call days off, the owner always rejected. I also was doing the cooking, taking customers orders for dine-in and takeout all at once and I didn’t hesitate to complete the task because no matter what, it is my job to provide the best customer service. Then I felt that because I’ve been working really hard, it’s time to ask for a raise. As soon as went to ask for a raise, the owner started to laugh at me as if I’m not a US citizen. He straight up told me that if that’s not the pay I want then I can find elsewhere to work. I walked out that day which was May 15th of 2018. I just came across their page on Google and I’m honestly surprised to see that they’re still in business. The daughter has no proper social skills and manners due to her spoiled upbringing. The owner also operated a Car Wash not too far from the Kabob Zone but I no longer see it in business. He has history for doing people dirty and has sneaky business tendencies. I have nothing wrong to say about the owners wife as she was like a mother to me. But as far as everything else went, their food is extremely mid, I just seen the menu prices and honestly someone would be crazy to go here and buy food from here when there’s way better food and cheaper prices in the NoVA area. And honestly I hope this business shuts down. The management won’t change unless the business shuts down. I will never step foot in that restaurant ever again, especially since the treatment I received despite helping the...
Read moreIm going to give this review with all the integrity I have in my body. I want to first start off by saying that I am GRATEFUL for kabob zone because it’s gotten my husband to eat. He has struggles. We have tried just about any and all kabob places in this area and aside from making it myself, it is the best. The meat is always juicy and full of flavor with each bite. The basmati rice is fragrant and always plentiful. I love that I can order butter chicken off the menu too because sometimes I just crave it. And with kabob zone, I can never go wrong. The portion size is more than enough and serves as lunch the next day (yay!) and the naan. Ohhhh the naan. It is plain in the best way possible. It is exactly what you want when you order naan. It’s not loaded with “bells and whistles” and it embodies the perfect fluffy naan you hope for then you order. The spicy green chutney, which is really a cilantro based sauce is a home run. I always order extra and use it the next day to top my poached eggs (ontop of pimento cheese and sourdough, just try it) and I cannot get enough!!! The chickpeas are always a good choice too. The samosas, PERFECT. PLEASE do yourself a favor and give them a try. Truly the best in this area. My grandma used to make kofte kabob and since she’s passed I’ve missed it so much. Until now. Thank you kabob zone for always serving 100 every. Single. Time. Oh and btw, my two year old LOVES the food and she’s...
Read moreMy family and I have been ordering takeout from Kabob Zone for almost 5 years now--and I'm a little embarrassed that I am just now writing a review about one of our favorite Woodbridge eateries.
The food here consistently has been excellent: the falafel wrap, chicken kabob wrap, the gyros, and the garlic naan are what we enjoy the most as a family. My personal favorite is the Chopan Kabob -- this is among the best lamb I've ever eaten, including some pretty fancy places. And just recently we tried the Butter Chicken Curry -- fantastic. We'll be ordering that again.
At the moment I've forgotten the name of the owner (at least I've assumed he's the owner). He's almost always at the cash register. He's kind, friendly, and provides wonderful service. I've been present when he's dealt with difficult customers, and he did so with a gentle professionalism that impresses me.
There's not a lot of space for eating in the restaurant itself, and what space there is feels crowded; it's also rather loud. Usually I would take a star off in a review because of this, but since we use this as a takeout place, and since the food is sooo good, and the service so good...and without a bad experience in 5...
