Latino Chicken Place — Restaurant in Virginia

I live in the neighborhood and have been here several times for carry-out. First, the chicken is ok, not the best but not bad either. It can vary, I have gotten chicken with most of the skin missing, but most of the time it is ok and actually a bit tasty and juicy. The flavor is a bit flat though, but they do offer large cups of hot green sauce for a dollar extra. The hot green sauce is not very hot though, and would be much better if they made it spicier. They put the young girls at the counter and they are usually very nice and they will smile and be friendly to you, I always throw a dollar in the bucket for them. They in my opinion save the place. The cook or kitchen staff is usually one of a few curt dudes who don't have much in customer service skills, they just glance at you with deadpan expressions, seems like they are not enjoying themselves. I am glad to have a pollo restaurant nearby, and I'll save time by going there, but I wish it were a little bit better. I hope they work on their recipes and kick...

Went there during a rush hour ordered 3 whole chicken with rice, yuca, salad and side of plantains. Staff was very friendly. Price was very reasonable. The manager greeted me after the order was placed and asked if there was anything else I needed. I went to sit and waited at the table while they got my order ready. (Did not wait long at all) He walked to the table and brought me my order (very nice of him) when I got home and we got ready for dinner; everything was warm and freshly made. The chicken tasted clean seasoned just enough, the rice was delicious, the salad was fresh and the salad dressing tasted great! the plantains were fried to perfection! Will definitely come back. I have been visiting here for a few weeks now for lunch, as there aren’t many options in the area. I have gotten the same order each time and honestly the chicken is very dry and flavorless, I tried it a few times thinking I got a bad batch, but no. Dry every time.
