Firstly I must mention to you that I like trying new cuisines & flavors. I usually invite a friend of mine. We go out for food at least five times a month. We decided to go to this restaurant as we wanted to eat traditional Chinese cuisine and we drove by this place many times.
It is located in Falls Church Virginia off of Rout 50. It is very easy to find it, and to park your car. We reached the place at about 3:40 PM. However, and although the place was empty they took about half an hour to take our order. When you get in, there's a woman who helps you find a table. But it seems that once you are sited it takes almost 45 minutes for a waitress/waiter to take your order. Our waiter was unpleasant. He was not friendly at all and as about her, she was giving an unpleasant looking on everyone all the time.
The place has minimal design and it looks super dirty. The menu is confusing and the dishes were easily found in any Chinese take out place. The service was absolutely disappointing. The waiters had extremely bad mood, they were yelling each other and they generally made fuss annoying us. In addition they could hardly notice us when we wanted something (water, more wine, the bill etc.).
I don't recommend this restaurant, not even to my worst enemy. It was the worst dinning experience I had in a long time. The place has a terrible bad odor as you walk in. The next image is dirty tables that have not been clear up after other individuals finished dinning. The service is poor, super poor, place is dirty, super dirty. In addition, they bring the wrong order and serve males first and ladies last. They also act as if they don't need the money that the customer is paying for. The food has a terrible taste. I felt sick to my stomach which unfortunate because I like Chinese food. I would not recommend this place. However, I encourage Fairfax County food safety inspectors to visit the place. I'm will encourage the Department of Consumer and Regulation Affairs. This place does not deserves...
Read moreI've been here several times. Today, will be the last time.
The food quality is decent. Is it the best? No, but there are limited dim sum establishments...and even more limited options for vegetarian/vegan dim sum options. I'm vegetarian and my partner is an omnivore and have tried a lot of the menu.
The waitstaff is generally friendly and nice!
What really turns me off is the extreme disorganization of the management and the kitchen. We ordered quite a bit of food and this time (over $100, in which they charge automatic gratuity), it took over an hour an a half to get some of our order. It took so long, that we ended up canceling the rest of the items. When we brought it up with management...a younger Asian guy with a hat, he literally just shrugged and said "It's Easter".
We have patronized this restaurant many times, and regardless of the day, it's always inefficient and slow...even during regular weekends with few customers in the restaurant . But the rudeness of management has shown me that this is not a place that deserves my money for okay food.
Yes, the restaurant, looks run down, but as an Asian person, I've been to places like this and it's not a problem. In addition, as an Asian person, who is used to Asian service....the management is severely below average in terms of service.
I would not recommend this place until the management learns how to treat people with kindness...
Read moreWouldn't have known about this place if it wasn't for my cousin who lives in Fairfax. From the name you'd think it was Vietnamese and some of the dishes were a bit different from Hong Kong style. We were taking dim sum to my cousin's. The place apparently has been there for about 20 years and we've driven past it numerous times without noticing it. It's a pretty well maintained place with a sizeable dining room nice restrooms and somewhat ornate decor. Service was good and friendly. They have a wheelchair accessible ramp up front. We had a big order for a big family which included a vegetarian and a vegan. We had siu mai, har gow, baked and steamed char siu bao, chicken bao, fried veggie eggrolls, veggie mah po tofu, chicken chow mein, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves. These were all pretty much the standard. The pan fried turnip cake was cut up in cubes, and I didn't recognize them but they were good. The pan fried taro cake was a patty of shrimp paste covered in thin strips of taro fried crisp. Very unusual looking but very good. The crisp, stuffed tofu was vegan and good. We were surprised that an order of custard tarts was only two pieces until we saw them. These are the largest tarts I've ever seen and they were delicious! Very flaky crust and generous filling. The deep-fried sesame balls were still crisp and delicious. The roast pork was great....
