I have so much to say and this will probably be a lengthy review... for good reason.
You are doing yourself a disservice if you do not get their french onion soup. I make my own consistently and store it to have on hand for dinners and lunch. I also try it almost wherever on hand because I love the depth of simple flavor you can achieve with the broth.
This lone restaurant puts every single FOS at a disadvantage that I've had to date and may have in the future. The level of a few simplistic notes that the chef has infused into this broth is euphoric. I felt like a mad man eating it as I just couldn't set the spoon down for a second. If they shipped that broth I will personally buy several quarts of it a year.
Besides my paragraphs about a bowl of soup our Waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, wine offerings and was just in general fantastic, as was all the wait staff. You can definitely feel how they all have a continuity about them.
Our food to say the least was well presented and tasted heavenly. The very small but fine menu ensures that every dish is cooked to perfection.
The chef and sous chefs are visible from the dining area and a small decadent scent of the wood grill escapes and lifts the room from your standard restaurant.
This place leaves absolutely nothing to be desired.
In a short but sweet tl;dr
Excellent staff, service & atmosphere Phenomenal food, great plate size; presentation Your earned dollar is well spent here. This is an important one, every $ you spend here is handled well. The drink/wine/beer menu is reasonably priced and the food is worth every penny for the care and cook that goes into it. The building is very visually appealing inside, high ceilings; warm lighting.
Visit this place is all I've got to say. I appreciate having come here, thank you guys and gals for being (in my opinion) the best place in this town. I'll be back for another Duck Confit...
Read moreThis is the kind of place where it is obvious the owners care deeply about their staff, the quality of the food, and the customer experience. As a vegetarian with very specific food preferences, I knew there wouldn't be much/anything on the menu for me, but I was happy to accompany my husband whose mouth was watering for many of the options. To be fair, there was one vegetarian entree - a tempeh dish that may very well have been delicious but I'm not a fan of truffle oil which was used in the preparation so I didn't try it. What I did order was the broccolini with poached egg starter. It also has ham in the dish but was easy to pick out and share with the hubby (I'm not a super strict vegetarian, I just have my preferences). My husband really enjoyed his grilled chicken meal. I tried a bite of the veggies that came with his meal and they were cooked to perfection. Our bartender (Sam, I think?) and the new manager (Holly) were very sweet and friendly. The only strange thing about the experience was the bar seating. The bar height is too high (or chairs too low? I'm 5'8" so not a height issue) and the bar doesn't come out far enough for your knees to have enough room underneath. Small (?) design details that you'd think a place like this would have gotten right. We will go back sometime if we're in Warm...
Read moreI really was looking forward to this for my bday!Patrick, our waiter was OUTSTANDING! BUT....the food was disappointing...our eye of rib was BURNT TO A CRISP and RAW ...I got 2 END PIECES...for $59 per person that's unacceptable...what a bad experience...our total bill was over $300. New restaurant owners should take heed...attacking a reviewer shows bad taste...reviews are to help the owners do better! The 3 businessmen right next to us received NO end pieces ( they ordered the same meal) . When it was obvious I did not like my meal ( I ate less than 1/4) it is not my RESPONSIBILITY to complain...it's darn obvious it was inedible. Try to avoid getting the eye of rib until they can properly prepare it...there are plenty of good reviews on the spare ribs...but it's hard to ruin a spare rib since they are fatty. I give honest reviews...especially when in today's economy, going out should be worth it. This meal wasn't...
