Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Virginia

I have always received great service from here until recently. Ordered $40 worth of food. Asked my father to pick it up since he was on his way anyways. He went in roughly 15 minutes after I ordered. The person he spoke with rudely told him it had just been placed and it would be 25 to 30 minutes. So my dad shrugged with his hands up and walked back to his car to wait. My father was upset as anyone would be that was met the way he was. Then he called me to ask when I placed the order. I checked my email to see and notice a second email that my order had been cancelled. My father proceeded back in and was met by the manager saying he threw his hands in the air and that is a sign to cancel. And called my father a lier. My father left saying he isn't going to be treated like that. I agreed. I then called and the manager whom rudely answered calling my father a lier to me. How would you feel if you had 4 kids at home waiting for pizza and a manager cancelled your order because he had an attitude? He had to be right. He definitely does not know customer service. I explained to him that I owned a business and if my employee treated a customer like we were, they would loose their job and I was going to contact his regional manager. He said good luck with that because his manager would agree with him. So I called his manager (Chris at the Williamson store) as he appeared to agree that we weren't treated with respect, apologized, and he would call me back. Understandable since it was dinner time and he was busy. Well he has not called me back like he said he would. Maybe he was busy again. I know this a longer review but I feel it is necessary. Between my parents, my brother's family, my sister's family, and my own.... We go there a minimum of 3 times a week. I'm giving two stars because the other manager that is usually there (brambleton store) is a great person who always treats us with respect. I ordered Domino's Pizza because I have never been treated like that by them. Debating if I will ever go back to Papa...

Tonight on 1/21/2023 I called to place an order for a pizza pie. I began to drive over as while being on hold. I walked in after 15 minutes on the phone and stood at the cash register to finally place my order. The little girl walked up to the register and proceeded to ignore me. Then walked away from me! She had nothing else going on and then I had to say out loud “Is anyone going to take my order?!?!” I proceeded to ask this question again until finally a guy in a beanie came up to take my order. (I can not give names as to there are no name tags.) After finally taking my order Instead of saying I will expedite the pizza for you he said your pizza will be ready in 25-30 minutes. Oh I just found out his name is Brendan due to coworkers saying his name as I sit here typing this -1,000% experience waiting on a pizza! I highly recommend a different chain pizza place due to the low quality of workers who need to be replaced by more competent workers willing to actually work. While being in here this entire time the phone was never answered and was on mute the entire time. Here below is my undercooked pizza!!! Pretty decent but it's definitely changed a bit over the years. For some reason the quantity of toppings decreased pretty drastically (as in they used to cover the pizza in a well balanced way - each bite garunteed to have a good portion. Nowadays its more of a light smattering - some bites with one topping, some with another, some with none!) - ive noticed this at other places too however. Unsure why. Another huge change other places have that papa johns followed though is that cheese - THE most basic topping you can get - is now considered a "premium topping" not included when ordering toppings. You have to pay $2 extra, just for extra cheese, rather than choosing it as one of the toppings included in quantity. Its pretty ridiculous - but both downfalls basically put it on par with everywhere else. Not great for leading a competitive market, but also not so irregular as to make it too inferior. Sales are decent. Time is good. Taste is good. Sauces overpriced but good. Overall good for what it is, but still...
