Beware of being shorted on your espresso shots or drinks with shots in them. First time visit to this place and I asked for a quad shot of espresso and paid almost $5.00 for it. They hand me one of the small espresso cups about half full. I have been drinking espresso for many years and I immediately asked if this was indeed four shots. The barrista replied, yes. I then asked to use their fluid ounce measuring cup to measure if it was indeed close to 4 fluid ounces as it should be and it was exactly at 2 fluid ounces. They apologized and for some reason dumped that one out and made me a new one which again, was 2 fluid ounces. I was astonished that the barrista was clueless that she was handing me the same amount again. After showing her again that it was only two ounces she was about to dump it out but I said that was not necessary and all she had to do was just add to it. She eventually just added another shot to it but I did not get my full 4 shots that I paid for. I had to be somewhere and time was no longer a luxury for this issue.
The coffee itself was good so that is why I give two stars instead of one.
This seems to be a common theme these days at coffee shops in general. I have experienced this type of espresso shortage at chain coffee shops and locally owned shops as well. Getting what I'm paying for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered a small size drink and was confused about the fact that it cost the same when I ordered a medium size the last time. Not trying to save $1.50, but simply wanting to understand the difference. While inquiring about the difference with the manager(I think that was the manager. I did not request to speak with a manager.), the cashier who already seemed annoyed when I ordered my drink, came over to intervene. He was short with his words and cold. Again, I was calm and respectful so I donāt know what his deal was. The barrister and another employee also stood there watching me. Thatās FOUR people watching me like Iām some crazy person attempting to cheat them. Iām not rich but I think I can afford a $7 drink! I merely wanted to understand the cup size and price difference. I felt very uncomfortable and almost shameful because I was completely misunderstood. I simply told the manager I understood his explanation of the difference and left. I will not be returning to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOh how I miss Caribou Coffee.....
I have tried this Peet's Coffee location twice, and each time the customer service has been abysmal. Not to mention the decor - a mix of stark lighting and metal. It is not a place to comfortably sit and have coffee with friends, rather the ambiance seems to push you out towards the door.
The coffee isn't bad, nothing special, and nothing worth making a trip for. The baristas are quite pretentious and heaven for bid you ask for something "other" than what is the norm (i.e., extra room in your coffee). Also, pay attention if you order a food item. I've been given the wrong order on each occasion.
If you are in the area and just need coffee it's ok, but there are much better places out there (like Mishas in Alexandria) to sit with folks. This Peet's Coffee is "cold" and uninviting. Completely unlike Caribou Coffee that was there prior. I wish they'd bring...
