I've never come on here to complain before, but I don't like businesses trying to take advantage of people. I went to the Goochland Subway today with my kids. I wanted a wrap and a 6-inch sub for my child. I said, "6-inch on Italian, please, and a wrap." She grabbed the bread, cut it, then was in the process of putting the other half back and told me they don't have wraps, only flatbread. I said, "Okay, I'll take the other half of that, then," and she brought it back to make my sub. I ordered turkey, American cheese, and mayo on both, with some veggies on my half.
As the girl was making my sub, the boss walked by and said, "Those are two 6-inch subs." I heard this, so I said at the end, "Can we ring this up as a 12-inch?" The girl said, "Yeah, I don't see why not." Then the boss came over to ring me up. The girl told her I wanted it put in as a 12-inch. She rang them up and tried not to give me the receipt. I took it and looked, and surprise, surprise, it was two 6-inch subs. So I said, "You rang this up as two 6-inch subs?" She responded, "Yes sir, that's what you ordered."
At that point, I told her she just lost customers for life and walked out.
Honestly, had she not come over and made it a point to try to rip me off, I never would have noticed or thought anything of it. I don't understand the greed in this world! Beware of the Subway...
Read moreBeware, not a real Subway restaurant.
This restaurant looks like a Subway and seems to have all the appropriate foods⌠but when I politely asked if I could use the national Subway coupon in my hand, a curt and rude female manager/owner simply said âno.â She didnât bother to look up nor make eye contact - she just said âno.â
Silly me, being used to experiencing some level of civil customer service⌠I then simply asked, isnât this a Subway restaurant? And then I received no response nor even eye contact. So I have to assume the answer is âno.â
The coupon wasnât the big deal - a couple bucks off these days isnât the biggest deal - but in a small town, otherwise friendly area of Goochland, her absolute zero lack of customer service stood out like a sore thumb. I walked away, you may wish to do so as well.
For the owner: you can easily save a customer and keep good karma by simply offering a brief explanation of why the coupons wouldnât apply at your location⌠might be a logical reason. Iâd fully understand. Or court a deal by saying, âI canât take a coupon but today, a cookie is on meâ - wink. Or start by making eye contact if youâre going to work a front retail calendar. But...

The gentleman that was there was doing an amazing job hustling around getting everyoneâs orders put together. The woman that was helping was not as friendly. She told the man in front of me who would put his order in online that his order would be ready at 6:10 and not earlier. It is currently 610 and I know they have not started on that manâs order. I asked for a salad which at any other subway they fill the bowl with lettuce and spinach. I had to ask for extra lettuce because she only filled it 1/3 of the way full, (itâs lettuce it cost like a dollar ahead) , it still doesnât have that much in it. I also asked for a little bit of sauce. She covered the salad in Teriyaki. then gentleman saw what she had done, took the salad from her and asked if I would like to have cheese. I do not know who owns this establishment. Iâm guessing it might be the woman who was working there since Iâve seen her here several times before. But that man...
