This was my first time visiting this place. Thanks to some photos from other reviews here, I decided to check it out!
I got a small side of fries and the Carne Asada Bowl lunch special which, according to the website, it comes with - Arepa, Rice, Beans, Plantains, Fajita Veggies, Pico de Gallo, Corn, Lettuce, & Cheese -- I got mine with the Nata sauce (Venezuelan Sour Cream), but also no rice or plantains. The food was absolutely excellent. I loved every bite of it. The portions were great, the meat was flavorful and tender. The fries were great - though a little under-salted and quick to go cold because of how thin they were. But no worries, I can understand why for both. I'd like to have seen a bit more cheese and a bigger side of sauce.
The location is good, right between Pizza Hut and Food Lion. Plenty of parking. Happy staff and very polite. Order was easily identified and received. The food packaging was eco-friendly by being recyclable, if that matters to you! The bag had plenty of napkins, a fork, and a knife....
Read moreMy husband and I were excited to have a Venezuelan restaurant open near home. We just had to try it out, and we were not disappointed! The staff was very friendly, the place is small with three two-person tables inside and two outside, but it is clean and trendy with board and card games for use. The cashier brought us two mini spinach and mushroom empanadas on the house, just because we were new customers and my husband wanted to get one, but we passed on it.
The food was fresh and so delicious! We especially enjoyed the classic cachapa (come in for lunch and save $2) and the steak and plantain empanada. Prices are fair as the portions are generous, and they come with two delicious sauces.
We did try the tequeños, too, since it is Tequeño World after all, and they were ok, but not our favorite. We preferred the guava and cheese over the cheese only, which tasted strangely almost like a pig in a blanket without the pig.
We will...
Read moreI've been wanting to try the tequeños here since I found out about them through a Dash. The guy at the front was well mannered and helpful. As for the tequeños....they were good. The sauce paired well with it. Thought they might've had two different sauces like a few other places but this one alone, was great. We also ordered the empanadas. The flavor was good. The only downside for me was that it was greasier than I anticipated but other than that, it was good and filling. A tad bit more for the filling would be a bonus. The Bowl was a hit. So was the Mango drink 🍷. Everything, overall, was on point. We enjoyed our visit and will return.
I gave a 3 for the atmosphere ONLY because of the space. Seems like you may need more room. ;-) That is the only reason. The decor, seats, tables were welcoming! I loved it! Loved the books, VHS tapes...
