If I could select zero stars I would. Coming from a hospitality background with over 12 years of experience in NYC. I am very disappointed in this establishment. I am not blaming the staff because it is not their fault. I am not blaming covid either. The issue here is the management/owners of this location. Here is why. Take out order called in. Something very simple 6:30 pm order placed via phone for one large cheese pie. Person at establishment says oh it will be ready in 20 minutes. Arrive to the destination just 10 minutes shy of the 20 minute marker and was greeted by the host and told it will be a few more minutes. Here I am thinking everything is fine, but in reality its not. I see several door dash personnel waiting as well. They get their orders and go. I then see not one, two, or three new orders come and go as I was sitting right there. My wife called in again to check in on the order, and was told another several minutes. Heres the point, the normal cooking time/ticket time (for those in the business that care about service) 15 minutes tops for a large cheese pie without toppings. Nope here we are an hour later and no pie. Spoke with the staff member and said you know I would like my refund. "I do not have authority" is what he said. Again I am not blaming him. I asked to speak to the manger. "My manager is not here" is what I was told (DING DING DING wrong answer). Ok so I said its either you refund the funds or I will call my financial institution and have it refunded that way. Staff member heads to the back and claims he could not reach his management team. Ok no worries he overrides and makes a decision he should have made 10 minutes prior and gives me my refund. Granted it was $14.50, but that's not the point. The point is if you want to be a successful food establishment in a growing community you have to do what's right by the consumer/customer/client. If a manager properly trained their staff and gave them the proper responsibilities I would have gotten my refund and this post wouldn't have occurred. Here is the catch right when he went to give my refund magically my food was ready. You don't do things like this, especially within the food industry. If I were you reading this post I would take a visit to another establishment until this location gets their act together. So many other service oriented establishments within a 5 mile radius. I am not a critic to name other businesses, but there is a nice NY style deli really close by that went above and beyond and gave me the same order within 20 minutes as promised and they were twice as busy. MORAL OF THE STORY IS. TRAIN YOUR STAFF PLEASE AND DO NOT MISLEAD YOUR CLIENTS OR THEY WILL FIND BETTER...
Read moreI have to say, we were very disappointed. We've frequented this location of Vinny's for many years, but it had been over a year since we'd been here. We recommended it to some friends who had never been there and decided to meet for a meal on Saturday night. The service was slow, and we had to ask for certain items to be brought to us more than a couple of times. This could be due to new, inexperienced wait staff, but it's something I've never encountered here before. It was Saturday, and pretty busy, so we were willing to overlook it. Not the point of this review, though. The appetizers and dishes were good, as always. The true disappointment came when the meals started being brought out. Three of the pasta meals came out about 15-20 minutes before the rest of the meals were brought out. By the time the other meals were brought to the table, the pasta and chicken meals were cold, so the guests who had to wait to eat their food were staring at hot food getting cold because they were too polite to start eating before the rest of us got our food. When the calzones and Stromboli were finally ready to be served, one of our guests didn't get their food. Everyone had been waiting for so long, they started eating their meals assuming the wait staff had to go back in and get it. After another 10-15 minutes of waiting for it to arrive and seeing everyone else start eating, we finally asked where the last dish was. We were told there had been a mistake and it had accidentally been served to another customer, and they were making it again. Besides the fact that our table was almost finished with their meals, no one ever came to our table and told us of the mistake, or offered it as a complementary meal to-go. All the waiter said was "I hope that's okay." Feeling like we shouldn't have to pay for a meal that was going to come out AFTER the rest of the table was finished eating, one of the party went and spoke to the manager about comping the meal. Though the restaurant agreed to do this, the fact that we had to ask for this was surprising. We left, apologizing to our friends for the poor recommendation. I have a feeling they won't ever be going to this Vinny's again, and to be honest, I don't think we...
Read moreI grab a pizza here at least two times a month sometimes more but that is all I will get these days. Wings are way overpriced, calzone had little filling, no ricotta, and was not worth the price. It was like a pizza dough mozzarella stick with a couple small pieces of ham and pepperoni. Lately everything has gotten more expensive anywhere you go but after taking that into consideration even the pizza has lost its value to price ratio standing in the neighborhood. They cut back on toppings but charge more for them. the quality is slipping, I’m not sure if it’s the ingredients but the cost has gone up on the basic pie. I loved this place, even made a few friendly suggestions, then had to call about the lack of toppings and quality of the pie. Try it out maybe it will be better for you but having gone here for years it seems as if they are just price gouging now. If you don’t believe me, buy a bag of hot wings at giant, cook them look at the cost(include gas usage and electric usage if you wish like a restaurant does) then order 12 wings at Vinny’s and don’t have a heart attack from sticker shock. Unless they had a unicorn bless them the price is way too high. you get way better value from giant even already cooked hot wings from giant, than Vinny’s. Then look at the other items and cringe at their prices. Did you all get huge raises the past two years? If so eat here. If not Try Scaffas or Brothers pizza you will save money and get better quality these days. I hope Vinny’s finds its way back to...
