Nestled in the heart of the Stafford VA community, Veteran owned business and in my opinion, stands out as a true local gem, a place where quality, service, and pride comes together. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm smile and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee that locals swear is the best in town. The restaurant shines not just for its exceptional coffee, but also for its perfectly seasoned, tender steaks that rival any high-end steakhouse, at a very incredible price. The space is spotless, cozy yet inviting, and every corner reflects the discipline and dedication of its veteran ownership. The staff embodies true hospitality, friendly, professional, and attentive, creating a dining experience that feels both personal and top-tier. Whether you’re starting your morning with a rich espresso or ending your evening with a juicy sirloin, this Stafford, VA grille delivers excellence every time.

their burger was so good. my first time going. They redid the inside and it was so cute and was very clean. I want to say i had the pleasure of speaking with the owner/cook. He was a delight. He was also very welcoming. Same with the cashier she was very nice. If you ever get a chance to stop by for a burger for sure do so. I love 5 guys but this was a homecooked burger. i will always appreciate. especially since everything is a chain around here. will def be back for breakfast. Highly recommend.

We just happened upon this place coming from the Quantico commissary. It was so worth it! We were greeted as we entered the door and our little waiter, Jackson, was so professional and polite. He gave us suggestions and tips on what to order. The food was soooo good😊 Steak and eggs and the pancake breakfast is what we ordered. Perfectly seasoned and hot! We will definitely be coming back. A sweet little spot. Don’t let the outside of the building fool you!

I'll start by saying I want to like this place... While I give the food 4 stars, the service and pricing is 3-4 stars (clarify below).

After seeing posts on FB, we gave this spot a try. Small but functional. Service is friendly, but expect to do some of the work. (See below) Coffee and food are both pretty good, though you may feel it in the wallet.

Food: First, the good. Food was great overall. Eggs were cooked correctly, potatoes tasted freshly cut and cooked, sausage and bacon were well prepared. Biscuits were so-so, more dense than fluffy but the sausage gravy complimented them well. Pancakes and French toast were just OK, nothing too fancy, just average. They advertise the best coffee in Stafford, and they may deserve that title.

Pricing: So here's one issue I had. Per several posts on Facebook, they advertised the Big Country Breakfast for $8.99 (great price that got us interested), but the menu and cost we paid was $13.99. For the 5 (2 adults and 3 small kids, 5 drinks and 4 meals, 1 was split) was close to $80 after a standard tip (though confused on whether we should have tipped as it was minimal table service). While the food was good, not sure it was $14 a plate good when you're talking 2 eggs, a potato, a sausage patty, and two smaller biscuits and gravy.

Service: So strange service setup. We were told to seat ourselves. We were handed menus at the table, but you go to the counter to order and pay before receiving the food. We had to get our drinks, both coffee and fountain drinks were in the dining area. You get your condiments from a table in the dining area. They do bring the food to you but that's pretty much the extent of the service. However, the interactions with staff we did have were very friendly.

Location/Atmosphere: Small location off Rte 1, easy to miss if you're not looking. The inside only seats 20-25 people (tables set for 2 and 4) and may be a challenge for 5 or more depending how busy. Not much to the inside, and not much in terms of privacy to tables.

Overall, if you're looking for a diner type breakfast spot in the Stafford area, this is a great place to consider visiting for the food. However, price and the service situation leave less of a diner feel and you questioning if the food is worth it. You may find there are similar quality for a little less at other locations, and include full...

Widewater Grille is hands down one of the best breakfast places I've had...ever! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is beyond friendly, and you can tell they genuinely care about providing top-notch service. In fact, I just ordered a to-go order this morning and spoke to the owner (Chris) directly for 15-20mins.

Now, let's talk about the food—absolutely phenomenal! Everything is made from scratch, and you can taste the quality in every bite. I ordered a Western Omelette with a side of bacon and it was next-level delicious. Their breakfast options are amazing—crispy bacon, and eggs cooked just the way you like them. I forgot to mention their coffee (Cuban Coffee) is the right pick me up you need on the way to work or paired with any dish they serve (SOLID 10/10).

I’ve seen a couple of negative reviews, and honestly, they don’t add up to my experience at all. It seems like a case of one-off situations because this place is consistently excellent...and if you read them, it seems like the people are just grumpy.

If you're in Stafford and looking for a fantastic place to grab breakfast or lunch, Widewater Grille is a must-visit! Support this amazing local spot—you won’t...

This review is a bit overdue-- I meant to post it in December, the day we got home from eating here. My wife, 10-month old (at the time) son and I were in the area from Maryland to visit a local park to do a short little hike and see the scenery. We were starving afterward and came across this restaurant on Google Maps, and tried it based on the reviews. The food and the service were both perfect. We don't go out to eat often, but I can't remember the last time I was this impressed with the quality and taste of the food.

We had requested chicken tenders so we can cut up for our son, but based on his very young age and how crispy the chicken tenders tend to be, the young lady working there suggested we maybe consider the peanut butter and jelly sandwich for him instead. We took her up on that, and even his PB&J looked just absolutely perfect. Of course, he loved it once we broke it up for him and I tried a bite myself.... never had such a good PB&J haha.

My wife's meal and my meal (chicken cheesesteak sub) were both just delicious as well. The fries were perfect too. Couldn't have been more pleased with our meal here and would definitely love to return if we find ourselves in the area again. Thanks for such great food...
