Unfortunately, this new restaurant did not meet the expected standards. It used to be great with varying menu items and prices before the new ownership/menu. Now, everything is quite a bit more expensive and the choices were just not there. A kid's meal with just mac and cheese and fries was 8.00. The sweet tea chicken was a new idea but was also disappointing and lacked flavor which was surprising for such a neat idea. The atmosphere is still great as it is right on the lake and has a bar. There are still lots of dockable spaces for boating so none of that changed. But the menu choices decreased in quantity and variety and prices went way up. Most meals were 24 to 40 dollars each. The simpler sandwiches with fries were 14 to 24 per person. But be prepared as the fries are scarce and the ranch is not good either. The catfish sandwich was another great idea but was undercooked on one side of it. These are pan fried instead of deep fried as well just FYI. Service was mediocre at best with long waits for any refills or check ins as well as a waitress who would be in the middle of talking to us and then promptly turn her attention to the next table beside us mid sentence. Servers usually make the experience better though and ours was at least thorough enough to tell us about some menu items we had questions about. Unfortunately, even though this was our summer go to when we were on the boat, I think we will be going to try out the other restaurant at the Tellico Marina...
Read morePlace is Kickin right now but it's still a Grand Opening that is being checked out by many new curious customers. They put ALOT of money into bumping the place up to a Higher Scale. Fun Place to be and Food was Delicious. Still working the bugs out with staffing, It's ALOT of teenagers who don't quite have it down yet. We had to track her down even to get started with a glass of water all around. Was brought one drink and never offered another (cup being empty for awhile) and then was asked if we were all set? Bill was brought without even being offered another drink. After that, we sat there for over an hour (Bill prematurely settled) waiting for the band to set up without any other offers for another beverage. Believe you're "Missing the Boat" there at a local watering hole when you have to ask for something to drink and end up leaving thirsty. Overall, a tad bit pricey but what isn't these days. Some expensive entres for a casual boaters hang out. Menu could probably use a little modification and some simplifications. Comfort Foods. Awfully expensive options for lunch on the lake and could use some less expensive options. Personally, I'll go there less due to the cost. Would like to frequent more, feeling as I have more casual menu options. I Recommend the Steak Sandwich, but everyone I was with enjoyed their food equally. Chicken tenders were...
Read moreWe have eaten at Mudpuppy a number of times. It is usually great. Tonight was the exception. The open air atmosphere is nice. My husband waited 15 minutes for his beer before we had to ask again. Our food took a long time to come out. The $38 steak was lukewarm and overcooked. The broccoli was undercooked and the Caesar salad was made of iceberg lettuce and had croutons - I had asked for none since I am gluten intolerant. The salad came out with the food instead of before. No one came to ask us if our order was ok. My husband had ordered sweet potato fries and got regular. He told the waitress and had to ask again 20 minutes later. When they came out, they were overcooked and all stuck together. When we were about to leave, someone came out with our order prepared again. The waitress took it back and was hit by the door going back into the kitchen, opened by another employee. The plates were knocked out of her hand and landed on the floor. And there were ants crawling on the bar and into the cherry jar that the bartender puts in the drinks. The waitresses weren't really friendly and spent time on their phones. We are not sure we...
