My experience here was limited to hiking the Meadow Loop and Lost Shoe spur trail so I have no knowledge of the historical aspects of this island park.
Aside from the four little hiking trails and educational opportunities regarding the fort built by the British during the French and Indian War, the park offers picnic areas, kayak and standup paddle board (SUP) rentals, a museum and gift shop, the opportunity to leave trash everywhere with no consequences (known as fishing throughout the rest of the country) and plenty of space to observe the surrounding landscape and birds.
