Wayback Burgers — Restaurant in Voorhees Township

I had the most appalling experience yesterday (5/20/20) at this location. Completely unacceptable and insulting. I have been to this restaurant many times before, but despite subpar customer service, food was very good so I would return. Due to COVID19 pandemic, I ordered online for curbside pickup. I got to the restaurant and I called as instructed on receipt to let them know I was there. Phone was answered, no thank you for calling wayback or nothing, just "hello" very rudely like he was being bothered.. fine. I said I am here for curbside pickup, "name", my name is Irfan... click. Phone hung up. There was no ok ill be right out, or whatever. He comes out 5 minutes later. He was disheveled, wearing jeans, with a button down shirt that was untucked. He walked between two cars not knowing which one to go (maybe when he originally answered the call, most normal people would ask what car are you in, but since he just hung up he wouldn't know). I rolled down my window and said "irfan?", and he just handed it to me, no smile, no hello, no thank you, no nothing, just handed and walked away. Being a restaurant owner myself, this made me very upset. As I was driving home, I called and asked to speak to a manager. To my surprise, the same guy was apparently the manager. I cannot fathom that he is the manager of the restaurant. He said his name was "tj". I proceeded to tell him that he should provide better customer service.. and what did he do, HE HUNG UP THE PHONE. Didn't say anything, while I was talking, he INTENTIONALLY hung up the phone. I called back, and he started yelling saying "stop calling" and then... you will not believe this, without provocation, he said "SHUT THE F* UP". He said that 3 times to me, and kept saying shut up. I said I am going to report this to corporate, and he said "do what you want to do, I don't care".... WOW. I could not believe what just happened. On top of that, during this time of COVID19, with restaurants suffering, I would imagine restaurants striving to provide superior service. I cannot believe I experienced this. I eat at restaurants ALL the time, and have NEVER experienced such a behavior, that too from a "manager". You guys should not have someone like this working at your restaurant... UPDATE: After I submitted a complaint, Corporate was very kind to get back to me right away. Very helpful and friendly rep who assured me that the higher ups would be contacting this person. It turns out the man I dealt with was the OWNER of the restaurant. This makes this situation even more concerning that the owner of the restaurant can behave this way. No wonder his employees don't have good customer service, given he is overseeing them. When the top is pathetic, you can expect the rest to be. Oh, and the burgers were completely overdone. Think twice about supporting an owner who is arrogant and rude, especially when you have other great burger options in the area like Five Guys, Smashburger, Red Robin, all of which not only provide great food, but great customer service. And for the owner to be so arrogant to not care if I contact corporate, goes to show that he has no concern for consequences.

UPDATE: Just to show how pathetic owner (Ajay) is: he went on my business page and posted a FAKE 1 STAR review, with fake comments, EVEN THOUGH HE HAS NEVER BEEN TO THE BUSINESS. This is how petty the owner is, that as retaliation for receiving an honest bad review on his business, he went a wrote a fake review for mine. Ajay should spend more time fixing up his pathetic establishment and disgrace he has made of wayback burgers, instead of using that energy and effort to post fake retaliatory reviews. You all can see all the negative reviews. What is even lame is that he also posted 5 star reviews for Wayback Burgers (under Google rules that is prohibited and classified as conflict of interest). He has to take desperate measures to try to offset his bad reviews. Take your money and support the many better burger places rather than support this...

I go to treatment at the hospital 3x a wk, but on this particular day afterwards I had a taste for a burger and some real good food. Im usually disappointed when I go to a fast food place, do I was skeptical going in however here at Wayback there burgers/chips/milkshakes are absolutely amazing. Freshly cook per order. No frozen patties, good size, prepared to your liking. Ray the cook at this particular site noes what he is doing. He is all about the quality of his work. I ordered the Big Easy..He made my burger so delicious that day, I had to return the next day for another one along with 3 serving of chips and a milkshake. Everything at this place was on point.The chips they have there are out of this world along with there milk shakes. The bonus of it all, was Lawrence. Hus customer service was outstanding. He took my order and he went over and beyond to satisfy me and each customer as I awaited and watched how he ran the establishment. He was professional, warm welcoming and he even remembered me when I came the following day which is rare when u have so many ppl throughout the day. I really enjoy my food. This place has moved up to my number 1 spots for food. I love how everything is made fresh from the meat to the ingredients when the bun. Thank you so much Lawrence and Ray, you have no idea how comforting you made me feel and how it was a pleasure to be served by u both. You never know what a person is going thru and a good meal has a way of making everything for that...

This place would get over 5 stars if it was an option! My boyfriend and I had never been here and we ordered chicken tenders with fries and a single burger with fries and a chocolate banana milkshake.

The single burger isn't very big (under 1/4 pound) but you have an option to get two patties instead of one. Burger was delicious! I would compare it to a burger from Stewart's but without all the heavy grease. Has a wonderful taste! The fries were perfect as well! They weren't too crunchy or too soft, just right and with just enough salt to satisfy! My only complaint was that my milkshake didn't taste like it had enough banana in it, but even then, it wasn't too rich and I still drank the whole thing.

The chicken looked hand breaded and was "mega awesome" as my boyfriend says. It was juicy without too much crunch and just had the perfect seasonings to it! Plus it wasn't too expensive! We spent about $26 for two meals with a milkshake upcharge. Was not expecting it to taste so good for that price 10/10 will come here again! Special shout out to the staff for being so friendly and patient while we ordered and the food and service was fantastic! Thank you so much for making...
