If you're looking for fresh authentic Lebanese cuisine, D's is the place to go. You can find the small hole in the wall at 1503 Colcord in Waco Texas. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm. Along with great food there is a great atmosphere. Along the back wall of the restaurant is a mural which makes it look like you are staring off a balcony looking of to a sea and a city on rolling hills. To go with the beautiful mural there is photographs of Lebanon around the room, along with some rustic wall decor. The restaurant itself is quite small, only seating around 42 people maximum. It is not bothersome as I feel it makes it homey and relaxing, regarding the fact that I get very bothered in large crowded restaurants. The sizes of the tables are able to fit anywhere from two to six people so you could bring your family or come for a date night. As my father and I walked into the restaurant there was only about two people plus one of the owners sitting down. We came at about 1:05 pm. The woman at the front counter greeted us politely and asked us what we would like to order. My dad and I both ordered a gyro wrap ($6.99) and added on fries and a drink for an extra ($2.00) so it totaled around $18 for the both of us. It took about 15 minutes for the food to come out. Some may say that is quite a bit of time for being some of the only people in the restaurant, but the food is [I believe] made fresh in the back, giving the wait reason. The fries we got were very crispy. They are honestly some of the best fries I've had and my dad agrees also. They might have a little salt on them but you honestly can't tell, but I feel as if they don't need it. Although I did dip them in a bit of ketchup. The gyro is one of the best things I think I have ever eaten. The meat is lamb, with a mixture of beef, and it is very very tender. It is shaved into super thin slices, and is super flavorful. Also in the wrap are tomatoes, and lettuce. Both were very crisp and seemed fresh. To top it off they put tzatziki sauce in the sandwich. It's a yogurt with cucumber and dill flavoring. The one problem I seem to have with the gyro is that the pita it is wrapped in is very thin unlike most, it's almost like a tortilla. It's pretty tough to bite through. It is easy to ignore it though because the rest of the food is so good. Other food on the menu includes Lebanese food platters such as lamb kabob plate ($18.99) and kibbe plate ($14.99). They also serve food like chicken tenders and a choice of a hamburger. The platters and plates on the menu are all pretty expensive but I feel if you get the gyro that is reasonably priced, that is all you need to be satisfied. The restaurant itself is pretty clean, with the exception of a few of the occasional crumbs. I believe them to be there because people come and go and seat themselves,I feel it depends of how well they clean up their own mess. The overall quality of service was excellent. Everybody who works there is very nice. I always notice one of the owners is usually talking and interacting with customers which is a great attribute. All in all this restaurant deserves five out...
Read moreGreeted by Hippocrates quote “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be the food”. Then confronted with styrofoam and plastic everything. Wish the owners would go a step further with their logic of where we are going to get healthy food. It’s a fast food restaurant that’s poorly arranged. Self serve soda machine is in high traffic area of front door and register. Clutter behind the counter and kitchen door was open to display more disarray. Our table had a ketchup bottles with old caked on ketchup around the lid. Staff comes out of kitchen with food plates on red plastic trays and will stand next to you and yell your ticket number instead of approaching the two tables in the restaurant. Overall sense of not wanting you there or you’re an inconvenience. Now to the food. Pretty pricey. $18 for one lamb kabob with 4-5 pieces of meat. Box mashed potatoes. Green beans were good. Hummus is flavorless. Pita bread isn’t house made or it was old-either way it was hard and dry. Lebanese salad and falafel were both decent but unmemorable. Overall, you get the impression that someone had a vision once but have...
Read moreHealthy restaurant Healthy Eating. Definitely worth going to if you pass through Waco. My meal was made fresh and as soon as I ordered it. They use all organic ingredients. This restaurant is a gem in the rough. The neighborhood around it isn’t the best but it doesn’t really matter much. This Mediterranean restaurant is amazing and I wish they had more restaurants. It’s been open for 16 years.

Overall this place is worth it. Food is great and healthy. I can’t deny that. I do wish they would use actual glasses and plates for dine-in. The foam plates are great for less dishes but it causes more trash and waste in our environment. My meal was hot and Fresh and I liked that. I was Hungry, I ate, and I’m...
