Lee’s Kitchen in Waco has become one of our very favorite places to eat. It’s listed as Vietnamese street food, and the quality and flavor back that up 100%.
Their fried rice is amazing — moist and flavorful, yet with just a touch of crispiness, like the golden bits everyone loves from the edges of a casserole dish. It has an aromatic quality that’s hard to describe but unforgettable. I usually get it with pork, and it’s easily the best fried rice I’ve ever had anywhere.
I also love their stir-fried peppers, a perfect mix of red and green peppers, onions, and your choice of protein — I go with the beef. The vegetables are cooked perfectly and still vibrant, and the whole dish tastes fresh and balanced.
For appetizers, don’t miss the shrimp fried wontons, the fried dumplings (potstickers), and especially the seafood eggrolls — they’re out of this world!
Since it’s Vietnamese, they serve Café Du Monde coffee blended with another Louisiana roast to make the most delicious coffee drinks anywhere, and their teas are excellent too.
Sheila and I have also become big fans of our server, Nora — she’s friendly, attentive, and genuinely seems to enjoy hearing how much we love the food and service.
One of the things that really sets Lee’s Kitchen apart from most other Asian restaurants in Waco is that the dishes here aren’t drowning in thick, corn-starchy sauces. Everything tastes clean and fresh, with the natural juices from the meat and vegetables kissed by a scorching-hot wok. You can add soy or hoisin if you want — it’s on the table — but you’ll find you probably don’t need to.
If you’re craving Asian food that’s flavorful, beautifully prepared, and made with real care, Lee’s Kitchen is the place. Absolutely fantastic every single time!

Read moreWe’ve been visiting Le’s Kitchen food truck for years and have tried most of their menu! It’s been amazing to watch their journey, and we were thrilled to attend the grand opening of their new brick-and-mortar restaurant. Our primary server was remarkably attentive, ensuring every detail was perfect and providing an exceptional level of service.
For our meal, we ordered a variety of dishes: Beef Stew, Bún Mọc, Chicken Hu Tieu, Veggie Dry Noodles, Pork Fried Rice, and Red and Green Thai Tea. Every dish was beautifully prepared and packed with authentic Vietnamese flavors.
The Beef Stew was rich, hearty, and perfectly seasoned—truly comforting and satisfying. The Bún Mọc stood out with its flavorful broth and tender pork meatballs, offering a nourishing and indulgent experience. The Chicken Hu Tieu featured a light and savory broth paired with tender chicken and fresh toppings, making it a delightful choice. The Veggie Dry Noodles were a refreshing option, with a perfect balance of textures and flavors, while the Pork Fried Rice was expertly cooked, delivering a smoky, savory finish.
The Red and Green Thai Teas were vibrant, creamy, and perfectly sweetened, providing a refreshing end to the meal. Each sip was a treat that complemented the delicious dishes.
The restaurant itself is inviting and easy to find, with ample parking available. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, making it a fantastic spot for a relaxing meal.
Le’s Kitchen has truly exceeded our expectations, and it’s exciting to see them thriving in their new location. Congratulations and many blessings to Nhung, her family, and the entire team on this amazing achievement. We wish them continued success with their business and look forward to many...
Read moreWe have visited Le’s Kitchen food truck for the past years since they’ve begun and tried the majority of their menu! We are so excited for their storefront restaurant to open and had the honor to try out their menu during a soft opening launch this weekend. Emily, our main server, was very attentive and provided excellent service.
This was their first day of launching the menu. I would have liked some soft music playing in the background but outside of that the restaurant and parking was easy to find/access.
We ordered the homemade lemonade, Bun Moc pork ball noodle soup, chicken dry noodles with chicken broth, and the salted Vietnamese Coffee. The pork ball noodle soup’s broth is SO nourishing and the portion size of the bowl was SO large! I definitely left so full! A must order.
The salted Vietnamese Coffee takes about 10 min for them to make as the whipped cream is freshly made and they use a traditional phin filter brew for the coffee. Super strong, dark roast, and creamy! Highly recommended for all the Vietnamese coffee lovers.
The dry noodles were a refreshing option for those preferring broth on the side. We can’t wait to continue dining in with Le’s! Congratulations to Nhung,...
