This place was a real surprise. When we searched for the best steak in Waco, 135 Prime was listed first. So we opted to try it. It is an upscale place so we were a little underdressed. Jeans or Dockers and a nice polo shirt would be as well as sport coat and collared shirt. I was in a t-shirt and jeans. We ordered 1 - 14 ounce ribeye along with a baked potatoe and a house salad. My wife and I split the meal and it was more than ample. My wife likes her steak well done so I was a little concerned when the server said the specialize in prime rib and serving their steaks in a similar manner. I asked whether they could do well done and he said yes. The salad was delicious and they split that into 2 bowls for us. When the steak and potatoe arrived it had not been split so we asked for a separate plate and split the meal ourselves. The steak was 3/4" to 1" thick so I cut into it to check it. It was perfect, just a little past medium well to well done. No pink and no blood. The next concern was the thickness and whether the steak was going to be tough. It was not. It was delicious, moist and easily chewed. We also got the marsala mushroom sauce. My wife really liked it. I prefer a steak without any additional sauces. With the tip and no drinks we still got close to $100 for a tab. The server was very friendly and courteous. We had a great dialogue and in that conversation we mentioned we had come to Waco to celebrate mid wife's birthday. He remembered this and brought us out a complementary dessert of the creme brule shown in the picture. Very...
Read moreI was at your restaurant tonight. We held parties here and spent over 2k for a party of 4, have had countless visits and just the other night spent over $500 for appetizers and drinks entertaining friends and clients. Josh did a great job!
I came back tonight to enjoy your oysters Rockefeller I had the other night as mentioned above. They were again great! I then decided to order a steak along with a couple of sides. I ordered my my steak mid-rare / 135 degrees. I cut into my steak and it was over cooked. The Bartender Brandon Rodriguez told me to cut down the middle of a $47 filet to confirm requested temp. Steaks ordered should be mid rare throughout and not just in the middle. I requested Brandon to re-fire the steak and said I could assist in cooking if needed and requested rare to be on the safe side. My ticket then came and I was double charged for the steak. I brought this to Brandon's attention and then steps in mgr A.J. Williams. He told me that he was tired of me coming to this restaurant and insulting his staff and that he was not going to take anything else off the ticket. This was embarrassing and insulting to me at the bar. So please inform Mr Williams that we will never come back and that I will let all of our friends and family know that this is the type of service to expect from your restaurant....
Read moreFirst and foremost, our food was good, not great, which is the only reason I’m giving this place three stars. We chose this place to celebrate a birthday. If you’ve experienced fine dining before, you will not be impressed with the atmosphere. However, you will pay like you’re at Morton's, Ocean Prime, or Bond 45. The Cheesecake Factory has a better dining atmosphere than this place. The décor is outdated. There was no carpet on the floor where we were seated. The restaurant is in a shopping center. We were sat between two entrances (drafty, loud, generally not a great ambiance). We were so over this place we got our dessert to go (Crème Brule) in a foil paper D.I.Y. Bowl (they call this fine dining). The whole meal was $325. We had Calamari, Chateaubriand Dinner for Two, a side of potatoes, asparagus, and a couple of drinks. Again, the food was good but overpriced. This was not $325 worth of good food at a fine dining restaurant. Especially with the atmosphere. I would not recommend this place to anyone who has experienced fine dining before; if you don’t know any better, you will settle for anything. I think that what this place is hoping. Don’t waste your time or money here. If you’re expecting or used to a true fine dining experience, I recommend driving to...
