Hey folks, My wife and I are semi local, from Chesterfield Co. SC, and often pass through Wadesboro, NC on our way to and fro. Coming in one evening from a work day in Greensboro, and hungry, I asked Google for the best restaurant in Wadesboro. Oliver's Restaurant, in the middle of downtown, pops up, and thus follows my summary review of our very nice dining experience.
We were warmly greeted and promptly seated by politely smiling staff. Oliver's, inhabiting one of Wadesboro's historic buildings, is a place of warmth and traditional charm, in a restored, authentic state of presence.
Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient, and enthusiastic about sharing with us the various menu selections and specials. Specials sounded delicious - farm to table, local pork chops in chutney, hamburger steak w/mushroom and onion gravy, red skin smashed potatoes, and other good stuff. I settled on the prime rib sandwich because our server said it was huge - it was. I had those red skin smashed potatoes w/mushroom & onion gravy on the side, plus a salad bar. My dearly beloved chose a Ruben and salad bar. My prime rib sandwich included creamy horse radish on the side.
It was all very nicely done, delicious and reasonably priced. So now, we've found the best restaurant in Wadesboro NC, encourage you to give it a try and hope that you enjoy it as we did.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopping in for a late lunch (2pm), my wife and I were advised that the busy lunch rush had depleated some of the specials. Following this news, our server ran through a pretty substantial list of specials still available. On the list was one of my favorite, a chicken salad sandwich. Both my wife and I ordered the sandwich and a single trip to the salad bar. The salad bar had both iceburg and field greens (no black spots or old lettuce). I had a very tasty salad with pickled beets, home-made potato salad & garbonzos (among other, all crispy and/or fresh ingredients). When my sandwich came in was oversized! What a big delicious croissant, and it was stuffed with house-made chicken salad & topped with a few leaves of iceburg & sliced tomatoes. The food was very, very good. The service matched the fare. Upon arrival we were greeted & seated quickly. Ordering was snappy as was delivery. Our sandwiches were at our table when we got back from making our salads. I never ran out of water and didn't wait for a to-go box or the check. Absolutely what I expect, and so frequently do not get, when dining out. Two Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwiches, two single-trips to the salad bar and waters to drink: $41.02. I will make it a point to return to Oliver's. Picture of sandwich has a bit of the chicken salad eaten in addition to the bite...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAn absolute hidden gem. My husband and I stopped on our way back home from Carowinds and this place made the trip 10x better. I reviewed the menu online and figured it would be a hole-in-the-wall joint but the food was insane! We started with fried mushrooms and let me tell you, not only were the extremely fresh but they were covered and fried in a crispy home-made batter. After that course we knew we were in for some good food. The entrees were delicious. I had the vegetable creamy pasta and MAN it was so good! The garlic bread was mouth watering and the cheese and sauce were A+! Desert came around and we ordered the pecan pie bread pudding. It came warmed with two dollops of vanilla ice cream on each side. My husband later told me "after that first bite I didn't want to share". It was soft, moist, rich. Absolutely perfect. To top it all off the service was extraordinary. Not only was our waitress on top of drinks, napkins and checking in, but other servers even stopped by to ask if we needed anything. Definitely stop by,...
