Was hoping to really enjoy it because I love Mexican food and haven't had any locally. It's a nice size place and roomy. We were seated quickly there was no wait. I'm use to warm chips coming to the table with salsa but the chips were cold and seemed to not be cooked recently.
The waiter seemed to forgot about us after seating us because he never came back to take our order until he saw me staring at him. The food looked great when it came out, smelled nice. I was only able to eat about half of my taco salad because the juice I assume from the chicken decided to overtake my plate and my edible bowl got super soggy on the bottom and that was that. I was able to catch the top edges of the bowl to get a taste which was good. Just wish I was able to finish my whole bowl because I was pretty hungry.
While we were eating, a lady came in with something she was selling and proceeded to approach each table asking if they wanted to buy it and the waiter was standing there letting her interrupt the customer's meals. It was pretty surprising because it's what you expect on the street sometimes but not in a restaurant.
We had to keep calling the waiter to the table for things we needed because he wasn't checking on us at all. I assume when you are done eating you just go to the register and pay because nobody came to the table with a ticket or anything.
I always encourage people to go see for themselves because my experience may not be...
Read moreI wouldn't even rate this place one star but I did to write this review. My husband and I decided to try this place for the first time tonight because the other Mexican restaurant in town ( LaFogatas) was disappointing the last time we ate there too but they were still better than this place! I attached pictures of our food so people can see just how ridiculous this was. Not only did I pay $40 for two people to eat but there wasn't even enough food on my husband's plate to get him full. He ordered the special fajitas and didn't even receive tortillas to make tacos. I ordered the nacho fajitas and this is the only Mexican restaurant where the cheese wasn't already on top of the food. I placed a takeout order so of course by the time I got home, the cheese had hardened so much in the little cup it was put in that I couldn't even use it.. I thought this place would be a nice addition to a town that really needs a decent restaurant but it's not and I will not be back! Also, the staff should concentrate on their paying customers a little better and not worry about socializing or being on their phones. I'm usually not one to leave a bad review but I felt like this one was necessary so this place can...
Read moreHighly recommend for Travelers, best pit stop on a long ride bar none
For many, Wadesboro is a conduit to the Carolina coast. For me, La Suerte is that conduit. I stop here ever year, no exceptions, and it’s a trip highlight each year since 2016. Prices are incredibly affordable yet the quality reaches far above the pricing. My go to, the honey chipotle chicken, is just 8.99 for a delicious, filling meal with plenty of protein. The owner is incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating. I’ve been coming since it was Plaza Jalisco, and I will continue to come until the lot is barricaded off from visitors. It takes a truly special kind of establishment to weather both Covid and the tragic passing of one of the owners; the passion and perseverance can be tasted in the food and felt in the very atmosphere of the restaurant. If you’re passing through, don’t pass this one by. From one traveler to another, there’s few like this one and you’ll be glad...
