Updated visited information for owners: I have visited Cha-House three times so far.
The first time I met the owner Andy and everything was wonderful.
On my second visit, May 29th, there were two girls at the counter chatting with a boy who seemed to be there just to entertain them. He was leaning on the dessert display, making it difficult for me to see the options. I wanted to order a dessert but didn’t want to interrupt their conversation. There was a third girl at the front who took my order. She seemed new or in training and was very enthusiastic, but she forgot the lavender in my lavender tea with a cheese cap because she was so focused on the cheese cap. The other girls could have helped her, but they were too busy flirting with the boy. Their conversation wasn’t workplace appropriate, which was disappointing. Overall, it wasn’t a great experience.
On June 18th, I decided to try Cha-House again and was excited to see the online ordering system. I placed an order online but had recently gotten a new debit card and wasn’t sure if the payment had gone through correctly, so I went in early to check. When I arrived, a sweet girl who has been there since the beginning greeted me. I explained that I placed an online order and wanted to make sure the payment was processed. She seemed panicked but smiled and assured me it would be ready shortly. Then, she walked over to a tall boy and whispered something to him. He suddenly yelled, “WELL MAYBE IF SHE HAD COME IN FOR HER ORDER ON TIME INSTEAD OF EARLY, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN READY.” It was so loud that everyone heard, and I felt incredibly embarrassed. I suffer from anxiety and had ordered online to avoid this kind of situation. His rude behavior was upsetting, and I was shaking with anger. When my order was finally ready, I explained again that I was only there early to ensure the payment went through, and...
Read moreOver the years of being out on the road for business, I have eaten at many restaurants, ordered from many places, and know what it is like to start a new business. I have pulled fliers from my hotel counters after visiting some restaurants so as to not negatively reflect back on my business. Today, for the first time, I ordered from Cha House in Wake Forest through DoorDash at 11:15am. Three drivers were assigned to pickup my order. Two apparently cancelled for unknown reasons. The third driver finally arrived with my delivery at 12:00 noon. I live about five minutes away, especially on Sundays. So I immediately wonder why two drivers cancelled their pickups. Had Cha House even started my order so they were not waiting? My order, Garlic Parmesan Fries were dry, hardly warm, contained NO garlic, and lightly powered with parmesan cheese. BLAND!! The other order, Thai Chili Chicken Rice Plate was even drier, unseasoned, bland, etc. I've had better hospital food. The little sauce cup of Thai Chili was not adequate enough to stir into the box the "plate" came in. The broccoli and carrots were cold and the fried, breaded chicken was not hot. The rice was steamed and, well, rice! After four months of being opened, one must ask, is it a lack of training, the highest level of expectation for this restaurant, or a combination of issues? I don't believe in judging by first impressions of a person or a business. I do hope the next visit or online order shows much...
Read moreDefinitely a place I wouldn't return to unless necessary. The attention is horrible!! You wait up to 20 minutes for a boba tea. I gave it two chances because the first was disappointing but the second even more so! The first time I ordered a taro milk tea and the girl who prepared it was more focused on what she was talking about with her classmates than on preparing the tea. A complete disaster tasted like sugar water and ice. On the second occasion I asked her if she could make the tea more concentrated since the first time it didn't taste like anything (I've been consuming boba tea for years and I know perfectly well what it should taste like) she just made a bad face and started joking with his classmates about it. my comment (I'm Latina) I assume she thought I didn't understand what she was saying. The boba did not have the bobas (she never explained that that was a topping) a complete disaster.
To the owner my best Advice because I am also a business owner, make sure that the people you leave in charge of your venture put the same love into it that you do when opening it. Don't leave your things in the hands of children who don't have the slightest sense of what's going on and who work for pay and not because they are really interested in the success of...
