Panda King Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Wake Forest

Tonight I ordered a sesame chicken, a general Tso's chicken combo meals, a large soup, and a large house lo mein(just under $40). My family was SO disappointed at the quality of our food. The chicken in the meals tasted as if it was prepared previously then warmed/heated up with the sauce dumped all over it making it terrible, tough texture with poor flavor; the egg rolls were tough and greasy(also seemed as if were previously cooked then reheated); the flavor of the sides of onion rice were insipid as was the house lo mein--very much lacking in good flavor; the soup base had little flavor(I thought was previously the best around). This used to be my family's go to place for Chinese food in Wake Forest but after our meal tonite, it may be awhile if ever we try it again. When we moved to the area 15 years ago this was our normal Chinese take out joint. We’ve since moved on to a joint in Forestville crossing but Flash forward to today and they had a very long wait so I thought why not give it another go. I ordered sweet and sour chicken (very overdone), beef and broccoli combo which had very little meat and the fried rice was yellow and dry, a seasame chicken combo which was also overdone which scary yellow rice, fried dumplings which were sad, soggy little things and chicken teriyaki (chicken on a stock) which was unlike anything I’ve ever had, brown, overdone and tasted horrible. Have to give 3 stars , used to be a solid 4. Called to place order on phone and it was busy, they have it so you cannot leave a message or be placed on hold . Got to counter and found out why - Young kid ( their son , ) left alone at the front, Visibly Overwhelmed trying to answer phones, take counter orders, pack and check orders for custs that called in. Not a good job for this young teen family kid who would really rather be elsewhere . Took my order at counter, then it took 30 mins for a simple order of soup and few apps.
