Order at the counter and pick a seat toting your own food. Asked if it were for there or to go. I dined in. But still put everything in a take out dish. So, plastic ware. Styrofoam cups. The difference between dining in and taking out was a tray or a bag. The interior was beautiful and clean. No bathrooms inside. I ate special sides. I had collards and cheesy taters. They were delicious. The pulled pork already came heavily with sauce. A sweet BBQ sauce. They had other sauces, but then you would end up mixing flavors. Prices were on the high side. The food was great. I ate it all but for the price of 18 and change for a half pound of pulled pork , 1 scoop of cheesy taters, and a small serving of collards. Would prefer making my own decision on sauce to put on my pork. No drink included. I had to purchase a separate drink, and I also got a shake. It was small for the price and I bought a specialty cookie to go. Bill just over $32. I felt like I was snubbed for not wearing a dress suit . I tried to comment on the food and the man walking around gave me a thumbs up n walked by to another table that had nicer clothes on and asking how they enjoyed the food and flavors. To say if I were to give them another chance idk. They do have a bit of truck parking on a busy highway. So I might give it another shot only...
Read moreExceptional service. Mac n cheese was cheesy, beans nice flavor, chicken tenders were tender / moist, fries were crispy and chocolate milkshake was chocolatey. 4-5 stars. Not sure if it was the time of day (6:30-7:00pm) but.. we were disappointed with the brisket and pulled pork. Both were overdone, too dry. Hopefully that occurrence was an anomaly. 3/5 warrants a 2nd chance for the bbq the next time we pass by on our trip but totally return for the other reasons: outstanding service, cleanliness and yummy milkshakes!
12/27/24 we stopped by on our way back from OBX, and we were greeted by a friendly gentleman as we entered the restaurant. The server was just as pleasant. This time one of us ordered the pulled pork sandwich (no platter), the other a half rack of ribs (no platter) and a pulled pork platter.
The pulled pork sandwich was meaty but the diner preferred not to have bbq sauce mixed in as it took away from any smoke flavor in the pork. However, the ribs were excellent - meat fell off the bone and very flavorful and smoky. Great portion. 😃👍
The chocolate shake was tasty and bacon cheddar hush puppies were good.
The restroom was in a separate building smelled clean and kept warm with a heater.
All in all, a great experience and definitely return especially...
Read moreWe were on a mission to Virginia Beach to see my grandsons percussion band performance. There was a bit of hanger lingering in the air. Everybody knows about the landmark down the street, now they need to know about Q Daddy's! We passed it, the parking lot was empty (that would've been a mistake) and came back. My wife and I got the sampler, brisket, pulled pork and chicken tenders. The brisket was phenomenal! Fatty, juicy....spoonable, no knife or fork needed. The pulled pork was very passable, the tenders were raved about by my granddaughter and her friends, my wife and I thought they were pretty doggone good as well. The tenders must've been just the tenderloin part because they were melt in your mouth tender. The older gentlemen that was the greeter was awesome! The ambassador of Goodwill indeed! I'd do this place again in heartbeat! The "empty parking lot" axiom was disproved with a vengeance at this place. Do yourself a favor and stop for a little slice of redneck...
