Happy Valentine’s Day!!! My boyfriend took me and his 2 daughters to the Tumbledown Farm to Fork for dinner this Valentine’s evening. My first visit, their 2nd time. I want to first mention it was chilly sitting at our table the entire time there tonight and I was already warned about this from their first visit to this restaurant. I really don’t like my food being COLD before I can get half way through my meal. They have a very ā€œcoolā€ (no pun intended) atmosphere, it’s entertaining to look it over and talk about the decor. The menu has a lot of variety, I saw many things I want to try when I return, and I will. Since it was Valentine’s Day, they offered a special menu which had some very yummy options you could also order ala carte. See my photos. The grilled cheese (from the kids menu) was yummy and stringy- from one daughter. The chicken tenders (from the apps ) were spicy- from the other daughter. The chicken with gravy, mashed potatoes and broccoli were good(he took some home so decent portion size) according to my boyfriend. My baked haddock was to come with asparagus and a baked potato but I asked if they had a baked sweet potato and was told no. They offered sweet potato fries and I accepted. When I heard they had broccoli, I asked for that over the asparagus. (It is Valentine’s Day so ….IYKYK! lol) My haddock was a bit under cooked for my liking but the flavor was good. The thinner end was cooked better for my liking. The fries I ordered from a farm to table establishment was a disappointment. I REALLLY think they were frozen and not fresh cut. For my first visit, it was promising. I’ll go back and try other options. I’m sure they are worth another visit.

We hosted a Rehearsal Dinner at Tumbledown in the Porch Room in late September. It was the perfect venue for our group and Kelly and her stafff were amazing to work with! We comfortably sat 21, and still had additional tables available for apps and displays, but you could easily seat 32 or more. Kelly made herself available for all my questions and concerns as we planned the event and reassured me every step of the way that they could handle our requests and that it would be a wonderful event. She allowed me to decorate the room however I desired, was patient as I changed the expected number of guests, worked with me on the menu we desired and the food and service were terrific! We had a very memorable night at Tumbledown! I highly recommend considering the Porch Room for one of your events...group luncheons, baby or bridal showers, family celebrations!

We stopped in for breakfast, however it was a day they didn't serve breakfast so that didn't work out šŸ˜…. Anne was our server and I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff in response to our situation. I decided to order the french onion soup, and my company had a cup of chili. We also ordered the California grilled chicken sandwich but the soup and Chilli was so filling we saved the sandwich for later. The quality of food was above expected and even the coffee was good. The atmosphere was rustic and warm with a old tavern feel to it. The outhouse was actually inside, it was clean and had a cool rustic theme to it as well.

I hate to write a poor review but really... how hard is it to serve the first three people entering the restaurant for dinner. We went knowing we saw a Facebook post about $5 Burgers.. Anyway you want it. First mistake. The bun, meat, pickle and fries is what you get for $5. Additions cost extra. No worries. I'll pay extra for swiss cheese and bacon and a side of the chipotle aoili. My husband ordered pepperjack cheese and grilled onions.

Second mistake. What I got was a bun, meat, pepper jackcheese and bacon. No aioli. I had to ask AGAIN for it. No tomatoes or lettuce..that would cost more.. $.50 each!..no thank you..and was not listed as extra add on for more cost on the menu.

Third mistake. What my husband got was bun, meat, swiss cheese and grilled peppers!

So they mixed up our cheese between our orders and gave him peppers instead of onions. Waitress comes and fixes our onion situation.

I am completely dumbfounded as there was an empty restaurant.. We we're first customers and served incorrect and incomplete BURGERS.

My daughter received a chowder. She said it was good and hot. We did order the pot stickers for an app. They we yummy. But overpriced.

The waitress appeared new and was cute, but lacked promptness..even with few people being served. Check out time. I asked for the bill... Waited to long and the hostess saw me looking around. She ended up getting my bill. Waitress returns a few minutes later she rings me out. Took a family of three to order 1 app, 2 burgers and a chowder over an hour and half to eat. Dear Lord.

I went to breakfast there a few years ago. Was not a good experience, but hey... give it another go. Well.. Sorry Tumbledown, not returning. Good luck on false advertising and...

Seeing all the positive reviews makes me wonder what happened when my friend and I went there. I will start with the positive, the place is a cool looking barn, pretty spacious. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. They also had a singer that evening which was creating a nice ambiance. Now, for the food! Here is the big problem. The food was terrible. Not sure anything comes from a farm. My friend and I had a salad and we both had big pieces of wilted lettuce, that was clearly days old, mixed in there. I got one of the special which was chicken piccata with fresh fettuccine. The pasta was all stuck in a couple of clumps, impossible to eat. So I showed that the waitress, she was very nice about it and took it back. After waiting a long time, my friend was done with her food at that point which she said was just okay, the manager stops by and tell me that after speaking with the chef, they could make me a new batch of pasta but it would just come out the same way since it's homemade. Wait, what? They really expect people to eat that? And I've gone other place that had fresh pasta, I've even made myself a few times and it never ever looked like that. They offered me a different side so I got a baked potato. But I kind had lost my appetite by then. In the meantime, my friend ordered a dessert. The homemade (here's that magic word again) apple cider donut sunday. That donut was clearly many days old. It was so hard and crunchy, she gave me a bite, I thought I was gonna brake a tooth. We also both got cocktails which were 11$ and did not taste like it had alcohol in it at all Overall kind of a disappointing experience. Not sure...
