I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with Pacific Sourdough!!!

This Tuesday, the 26th of August is our 30th wedding anniversary. To be honest, my wife and I have breezed through the years together and I have no idea where the time has gone. That said, I wanted to make our anniversary very special for her. She loves pastries and really good sourdough, so I called the local experts - Pacific Sourdough!

We have lived in Waldport for years, but never visited Pacific Sourdough because there is ALWAYS a line around the block to get their tasty treasures! I swore, after I was discharged from the US NAVY, I would NEVER stand in line again! But, for this special day? I would stand in any line for my wife and be thrilled to do so! However,I am completely disabled and unable to stand for more than just a couple of minutes.

I called ahead to find out if these fine folks had what my wife likes and of course they did. I spoke with an angel named, Kaitlin. She was AMAZING and informed me that I could go to their website online and place my order and then swing by to pick up our purchase. This was news to me!

Of course, I misunderstood and thought they had a drive through! WRONG!!! However, on top of being able to order online -- they also have a window to pick up your order without having to suffer a line.

I drove around the block a couple of times looking for the drive through window, but found none. So, I parked and called.

My friend Kaitlin answered the phone and was outstanding, as usual. I explained I was looking for the window and she informed me that it was a walk-up window. No problem! Except, I hadn't brought my mobility gear to help me walk. I told her I would be back to pick up our order because I needed to come home to get my gear. She said, no! She guided me into a spot where I could park and SHE brought out order out to me. I can't tell you how much that meant to me! I was blown away!!!

A few moments later, I returned home with our very first Pacific Sourdough order! My wife had no idea that I had this surprise planned for her. I ordered a wide arrangement of tasty treats that I know my wife loves. She was gobsmacked when I walked in the door with a huge shopping bag full of baked goods for her. Catered to her unique taste and fancies.

Once I began to offload my purchase, I noticed an extra goodie in the bag. A lovely little chocolate tart! One of my wife's favorite things! I had forgotten!!! And, there was a hand-written anniversary card to me and my wife. Kaitlin and Pacific Sourdough had sent us a very special happy anniversary message! I was blown away!!!

I'm not one for sweets and pastries... That's my wife's bag. But, I could not resist trying some of it out. HANDS DOWN, the BEST baked goods I have ever put into my gigantic greasy pie hole!!! The sourdough bread? PERFECTION!!! The sweetest!??? UNBELIEVABLE!!!

We have lived in this area for years and never bought anything from there because I didn't want to stand in line. But thanks to talking to Kaitlin, I was happy to place my order! The price??? WAY LESS THAN YOU WOULD IMAGINE!!! I brought home an entire brown-paper bag full of the area's finest for around $30 (with tip).

Everything I sampled was absolutely spot on perfection! Taste, texture, layers caramelized perfectly, glazed in immaculate baked perfection! I was shocked by it all!

Folks... Pay close attention....

Order online! Show up and go straight to the pickup window! Make sure you say hello to Kaylin (because today was her thirty-third birthday and she made sure OUR special occasion was her top priority) because she's good people!!!

You won't break the bank with Pacific Sourdough! You will be thrilled with every delicious and succulent morsel of food you cram into your yapper! You cannot walk away from this location with any regret!

I have a week of special treats planned for my lovely wife. Today was the first of those surprises. Pacific Sourdough made me look good! They brought the flavor, service, and satisfaction I wanted to deliver to my...

I was visiting Waldport from July 22nd to the 25th. And quite honestly, the talk of the town is this bakery! I stayed a extra day just to see for myself. After two hours waiting inline (I was 1st in) and $35.50 later this is what I got; 2 Ciabatta bread rolls ($2 each) They were great for sandwiches. Highly recommend. Pretzel Bread ($2.00) Had with some cheese & crackers. It was good. Scones ($2.50)w/Multiple cheeses. Gave to my friend a day later. They said it was delicious, after devouring it! Bear Claw ($3.50) A bit expensive. But delicious! Highly recommend. Big Cookies ($2.50) I got both a Chocolate chip and a Snickerdoodle. I was disappointed with the chocolate chip cookie. It has a different type of batter. IE: not a tollhouse type. The Snickerdoodle was really good! Highly recommend. Chocolate dessert cup ($4.75) also a bit expensive, but delicious!! Short bread ($1.25) Was yummy!! Highly recommend. Chocolate Swirl Brownies ($3.50) oh my gosh! Super moist and INCREDIBLY Delicious! 1 of my favorites!! HIGHLY recommend!! Chocolate Almond Slice ($3.00) my least favorite choice. It was ok. Apple turnovers.($2.50) Alittle disappointed. Would have liked a bit more apple filling. Coffee cake ($3.50 slice) My FAVORITE!! I wish, I had bought the WHOLE cake!!!

As you can see in my photos. Quite the line of people, to get the best selection. The staff (ALL were smiling) are incredibly freindly...

Update July 15, 2024 The last two visits to Pacific Sour Dough wasn’t representative of previous visits. Their quality and service has taken a noticeable down turn and prices have increased (Normal considering the state of the economy). Bought a sandwich for $4 that had a little cream cheese and a single lettuce leaf. It was so disappointing, in taste, bread very chewy, and lack of taste or any filling expected, such as some kind of filling for the money paid. Bought a raisin cinnamon bread and was not as good as previous purchases, very little cinnamon taste and bread very chewy, crust very hard. Not all items had less quality. The rolls, cookies and specialty items still very good as always. As a final note, we usually have a friendly exchange with the service help. The help behind the counter was friendly and helpful but there’s one at the check out who is not exact smiley or interacts with customer to make one feel satisfied to have visited Pacific Sour Dough. Her demeanor is one of ‘just there for a pay check’ look. Fortunately the helper is friendly enough to make up for the lack of any personality missing.

Been a customer of Pacific Sour Dough for several years. Never been disappointed in their selections, quality is top notch and service always attentive to your needs. If you haven’t been to PSD, give them a try, you won’t be...

Waited in line until open and took about 45 minutes to get through and get our goodies. Basque cheesecake - good cheesecake but I would prefer a good cheesecake with a crust. The caramelized surface of this didn't really offer much. Strawberry rhubarb cheesecake - Whitney liked it more than me. I found everything about it fairly flavorless. Bearclaw- nothing special. Very little filling, although what little filling there was was delicious. Wouldn't get again. Pumpkin loaf slice- the bread itself was delicious and moist. Definitely a great pumpkin loaf. The cranberries and pumpkin seeds added in are unnecessary and don't add much to the experience, or at least don't improve the bread to me. I'd be happy with just the delicious loaf. Marionberry muffin- soft and moist muffin. The marionberry is delicious and plentiful. The streusel topping is delicious and one of the best in memory. The muffin itself is fairly flavorless and doesn't contribute much. Whitney was very happy with the muffin. I wouldn't have to have it again. Overall, I wouldn't come back to stand in line for anything we got. The prices are very reasonable.
