Socks were blown right off! We’ve been traveling for over a month, and I always search for good coffee at any sizable town we pass through. The coffee here was near perfection, and the staff incredibly friendly! Perfectly roasted, and fresh as can be, these beans made a beautifully balanced shot with the perfect amount of sweetness in the finish. It’s clear that the kind folks at Walla Walla take as much care with the preparation of their coffee as they do with the sourcing and roasting of the beans. I took two pounds to go…not sure when we’ll find beans quite like this again.
And don’t get me started on the baked goods, both savory and sweet. We had empanadas that were wrapped in a most delicate pastry and filled with exquisitely spiced meat. (We took two of those to go as well….happy to report that they held up to a couple of days’ travel and made a very nice breakfast this morning!). And while we were sitting there, the scones timer dinged and we just couldn’t resist a couple of ginger scones fresh from the oven. Again, perfection. Not too sweet, but plenty of gingery buttery goodness.
We’ll definitely make a point of visiting should we pass through Walla...
Read moreMy favorite coffee shop and coffee bean supplier in Walla Walla! I love supporting a local family owned and operated business, but they also have the best coffee and a wide variety of delicious non-coffee options. Several of their food items and syrups are made in house. All of the employees are kind and make the business the success that it is. The Roastery also supports local artisans and other business owners through a variety of avenues. Although, my favorite part of this business is that most of the employees have spent years working there, and that shows their commitment of taking care of their employees in an industry where turn-over is often high. I feel confident spending my time and money here. I have spent many days sitting in the coffee shop to finish my graduate degree, the staff and atmosphere at the Roastery have fostered a great environment to help me in...
Read moreI usually like the coffee here, so today I went to get a cup and some beans. I planned to sit outside and enjoy it with my little dog. As I’ve done before, I waited to order by the outside window, for quite awhile, and was ignored. So with my little dog in my arms I went to the front door and was told immediately that my dog was not allowed. Yes, I already knew that, so I told them from the door (3 staff and zero customers inside) that I’d been waiting outside to order and no one came to the window. I was then told that that’s a window for cars not people, but if I wanted to go out back again that they could help me. Sorry, but no, you weren’t even nice about it. You’ve lost a customer due to unwelcoming and poor customer service. I’m sad that I felt compelled...
