We went there to eat tonight (Saturday 12/14/19 around 6:30pm) and the service was deplorable. We ordered the nightly special; fried flounder; and stromboli. I had texted my friend when we sat down (so I had a timestamp of how long we were there). After we ordered, multiple tables were seated after us... 5 different tables that were seated AND ordered after us all got their food before us. The kicker is that most of the tables ordered food that we had ordered so obviously it wasn't that the food itself too long to cook. After waiting about 25 mins after ordering, we told them to change our order to to-go, at about 40 mins after ordering we went ahead and paid to expedite the process. It was another 15 mins before our food cane out to which I remarked the salad was missing and it took another 5 mins to get a side salad prepared.
While our waitress apologized to us for the delay, no one offered to rectify the situation or try to fix the situation. While our waitress said the kitchen was swamped, it seems the problem is the kitchen does not understand how to efficiently prioritize the orders as they come in - so folks who ordered later get served before those who ordered prior. Please note I understand if it takes an hour to get food prepped and out because it is a busy night - if everyone is waiting an hour for their food, that's just how busy a restaurant is. But this wasn't the case because other parties clearly got their food out in 30 mins or less - the issue is the timing of who's food is coming out when and the fact that there were 5 tables that literally ordered after us (some as much as 20 mins after our order) and got their food delivered prior to our table even being served.
Once we ate the food at home, it was okay - nothing to write home about. My mom was right that instead of changing our order to-go at that point we should have paid for the 1 tea & 2 waters we had ordered and been served and simply gone to Wendy's.
Needless to say, even while we live in the area and there are not a lot of restaurant choices, we will NEVER RETURN TO THIS...
Read moreUPDATE to my post of three years ago: I get that we're all dealing with inflation, but please tell the cook not to scrimp on the roast beef when making French dip sandwiches. I've had this here in the past and it was piled high with a generous amount of flavorful beef. We stopped in on Tuesday for a late lunch. The French fries were great, the au jus was tasty, the bun was perfect, but the two measly slices of beef was insulting.
My first post: Nice place ... Quite an improvement!
It would be great if they sold beer and wine, since they offer prime rib and other steak dinners. Plus, who doesn't enjoy a beer with their burger or pizza?
Our server was very conscientious and courteous. Our orders came out quickly and complete. The menu selections were varied and enticing, and we're anxious to try them, so we'll certainly be back.
Our salads were good and the dressings generous, but they'd have been better if they'd been chilled a little more. My prime rib was prepared to order and had a fine flavor but my baked potato was unevenly cooked (obviously microwaved) and I'm not at all fond of butter substitutes, which is what they serve.
My dinner partner enjoyed his chopped steak smothered in grilled onions and the roasted potatoes which, he said, were quite tasty.
I personally found the coffee to be a little on the bitter side and our server ensured that it was a fresh pot, so that could just be my taste.
There's lots to choose from here, and the decor has been freshly changed. Since the menu is Greek and American, the only thing that could make it better would be...
Read moreThe customer service is sorely lacking. You are never greeted with a smile when you walk in this place. It is almost as if your arrival is somehow an inconvenience to the service staff. Today I brought my mother-in-law in for dinner around 5:35pm. We were greeted with a: "Just you?" and a blank stare. We were taken to the far corner booth on the Subway side at the front window wall. There was not enough space for my mother-in-law to physically get to her booth seat with her walker because the adjacent booth created a barrier. I can't believe we were seated there when there were plenty of open booths and tables throughout the restaurant. Somehow she managed to wiggle herself back to her seat so we made it work. I told her to order for me so I could use the the restroom. When I came back 8 minutes later, she still had not been greeted. This is unacceptable so I told her that we were leaving. On our way out we noticed that about 6 servers/hosts were standing around doing nothing at the register. No one wished us a good night or acknowledged our departure. This angers me because we order from here about once a week and I'm always a good tipper. We've been getting to-go only because all of our in person experiences have been terrible but today's visit takes the cake. We will not be back which is sad because the...
