Red Donut Shop Wallburg — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

I stop on my way to work to take donuts into the office on Fridays. Passed by my normal stop as I was running late. On a whim stopped here for the first and last time. First, it looked like they were closed, the lights were off and it wasn't very welcoming at all. Then it was like a morgue inside, quiet, dull and dark. The employee seemed as if I was bothering her by putting together two boxes of donuts for me. I apologize for coming in and making you do something. No worries, it won't happen again. The donuts themselves were greasy and not as flavorful. They were much more expensive as well. Fellow employees noted instantly they were nowhere near as good as the normal donuts brought in on Fridays. It is a donut shop! Should be lively and welcoming! But hey, what do I know I am not in the donut...

Came once, and already back for more. The donuts are fantastic, decent size, but not dense. We've tried the maple bacon, the lemon and raspberry filling ones, the original glaze, the blueberry, cinnamon sugared and the sugared donut. All extremely delicious. A half dozen with those options runs about 11 and change, which is a little bit on the pricier side, but it is worth it and we haven't regretted buying the donuts. The service has been great both times, and the staff is extremely friendly and patient and knowledgeable about everything they have there. Yes, you can get the national chain's donuts for cheaper, but are you really satisfied? You will...

The donuts got smaller and greasier while the price did not decrease. Eggs were removed from every donut. I see the owner's reply but there is a sign right there and the girl pointed and it said no eggs in the donuts. The old fashioned is extremely small and this is the reason why it is so greasy. There's not much donut to it. I used to eat one of their donuts and to not feel gross afterwards. But when I ate that thing that day I immediately came home and ate a dandelion salad to cleanse my system. I do not eat corporate the only donuts I eat around here are from Red. But I might have had my last one. I'll give them a month to improve and we'll see...
