Cousins Cafe & Deli — Restaurant in Wallingford

I ordered a turkey sandwich recently at this deli. I was unimpressed and underwhelmed at the amount of meat in my sandwich. If I wanted a sandwich with an insufficient amount of meat I could've walked next-door to Subway for this. I go to a deli because they're supposed to be generous with the amount of meat on their sandwiches. This was not the case at this deli.

To frustrate me even further, I ordered a bottle of water along with my sandwich. After I got the sandwich I went to grab the water. I was told by a staff member that I had to pay for the water. I said I already ordered the water. For some reason even though I ordered the water I was not charged for it and had to pay for it in a separate transaction.

I have been going here for many years and when they recently closed and re-opened under new owners, I was worried! I am happy to say they are still amazing! The quality was fantastic, everything was incredibly fresh, and the portions were huge! In addition to the 3 sandwiches, I also purchased a container of stuffed cherry peppers (been looking for these everywhere) that were so good! To top it all off, the staff here are super nice and treat you like family! (Oh, and the prices were very reasonable!) My wife and I move to Wallingford two years ago, and we finally just starting going here for food. The subs are pretty amazing, and there isa huge selection to pick from. You can also ask for a custom one if you do not like the ones on the menu.

Warm soup served in a bread bowl is also the perfect lunch or dinner when you are looking for some comfort food. There are always a ton of different soups and chowders to pick from which makes it nice.
