Hong Kong — Restaurant in Wallingford

So disappointing. Most of the negative reviews I've been seeing have to do with delivery or service, so I figured I would be alright since it's barely 5 minutes away from me. Nope...I ordered a few simple sushi rolls, general tso's, and some chicken fingers.

The sushi was fine. Not high quality at all, but they charged more for their plain rolls compared to other dedicated Japanese restaurants. The spicy tuna had decent flavor, but my Alaska roll wasn't too great. The cucumbers had a weird taste.

The chicken fingers were very greasy with not a lot of meat on them. The breading did not have a good flavor and just tasted like the oil it was cooked in.

I literally spat out the general tso's after a few bites. The chicken seemed old - stale and not at all crispy. There was barely any meat and the sauce was so weird tasting. Not quite sweet, or spicy, and kind of sour as well as super sticky. There was also way too much sauce (probably to cover up the subpar chicken)This is really upsetting since this is how I judge take-out places and whether I would come back. I will NOT.

It's surprising because the inside is REALLY nice. It's updated and modern looking, but it's really about the food. It seems like they spent more time and money on the decor instead of the quality...

I work at Hong Kong but I also enjoy the food very much!!!! Unfortunately right now they do not offer dine in. It's only take out or delivery. And if u come in and pick up your food and you see the tip jar unless you want the owner getting it (cuz they DO NOT GIVE IT TO THE WORKERS) do not put it in the jar! SO especially with the holidays coming and I work my butt of at the register to watch them put the tips in there pockets, please just give them to me or the other workers or just don't tip because it's not fair there not there but they take the tips!!!!! And I'm sure 100 percent of the people think the workers are getting them but we're not!!!! Especially considering when I tell them the workers don't get them they seem shocked!!!! Anyways back to the food it's excellent!!! Highly...

Ok. Food is generally spot on. But now I’m ticked off to the point of not going there ever. I’ve put up with absolutely nasty service for 7 years now. Today took the cake. Went in to pick up my order. Stood there for at least 3 minutes. Just me. Guy didn’t even look up from his phone. So I stood there. I did it on purpose. I said nothing. Just waiting if he knew there was a customer. Nothing. Face buried in phone. The food isn’t worth it. Ok. Call me stupid for ordering from there for so long. Twice I might have a polite person. Don’t have a restaurant if you want to be completely rude. We’re keeping you in business. Not the other way around. Keep in mind it took me this many years to be so angry to write...
