This place is a hidden gem in Walsenburg, when I was visiting this town more in the early and mid 2010s they didn’t have anything cool like this… that’s because they were founded in 2018 and one pandemic later they’re still around and I can leave this review While they do have 2 of their own beers brewed in house, most taps are of local southern CO breweries but today I was in a cocktail mood so I decided to get 2 cocktails that’s spoke to me. I had the A kick in the Hinney which was smooth and refreshing and Tequila Mockingbird which reminded me of a tequila based Paloma, the bitterness was nice and I enjoyed both of my drinks. The appetizer of the day was Shishito Peppers and they were phenomenal, very happy with it. For my main entree I had the Blue Corn Polenta which was amazing as well. It’s a thick soup with a black bean base I believe, I’ll say this, it’s very good but to me it could have used a bit of spice but that’s why you can ask for hot sauce. The best part is everything was good and the price was still reasonable. I ordered 2 cocktails, an appetizer and a main and it came out to 43$ (w/o a tip, but always tip yall), and when i mentioned how reasonable it was bartender just said they can’t totally price out the locals. If I had moderation it definitely would have been cheaper, but I’d say if you just get food, or get food and one drink it’ll probably cost ya between 20-30$. Overall I was more than satisfied, I came here wanting to support a local business and in this case this business is one I’d like to come back to. If you’re driving through Walsenburg or in the area and want a beer, cocktail or food, I’d recommend you stop by, you’re not just supporting a local business/the local population but also a GOOD local business. Overall I do recommend this place and will be back one day

This brewery is brand new, but I think they opened a little early. They only had one beer of their own available for purchase when we visited one week after their grand opening. The atmosphere is very laid back and it is in a great location close to food and shopping. It is definitely a local hangout owned by a local patron, which we really like. They are running a 2 BBL system, which is very small, but for it's location, that's probably all they'll need for quite some time. The beer they had for purchase was a Russian Imperial Stout, and it was pretty dang good. You can order food here, but it comes from another venue, which is not a bad thing. As far as entertaining yourself goes, well conversation and beer is it. Not at all bad, but the addition of some board games, etc. would definitely be a plus. No matter what, a brewery in Walsenburg, CO is definitely something you have to check out; especially when they get all of their beers on tap.

We stopped in here while passing through on a road trip. Fabulous. We loved it. Tried the brown bear ale and the blood orange ale - both great. The Supernova cocktail with lavender and butterfly pea flower was outstanding. We had the local meat and cheese tray - excellent. Local peaches and jam, meats, cheeses, house made pickled onions, and microgreens so fresh they literally went from the delivery person’s hands to our plate while he was still there. I can’t get over the vibe. It was fun to look at the decor, and it felt welcoming to all. Service was friendly and attentive. Even the dishes and utensils were cool. Absolutely worth the stop. Only a few minutes off I-25 and way better than off-ramp food. The downtown is cool and walkable once your are parked. We would visit again. Much love!

After 10 hours on the road, we checked in to our Airbnb and looked for a place to have a drink. Just a block away we found the Crafty Canary Brewery. We were two of four people at first but as the evening went on it filled up with locals. Ended up staying for several hours having a great time as everyone made us feel so welcome.

We enjoyed Black Bear Brown Ale and Ska Hazy IPA craft beers, as well as Whiskey Smash and Supernova cocktails which included ingredients made in-house and were delicious. We also ordered the Miner’s Carte plate which was a perfect size for two to snack on.

Aubrey, the owner, was incredibly friendly and even gave us some of her secrets for pickling beets and making Lavender syrup that I hope to try at home.

We wish them incredible success and will always stop by when we pass...
