McChickens from McDonalds, are a product that have been extremely successful for McDonald’s since the early 90s, but we’re actually on the menu 10 years prior, originally introduce in 1980, but losing favor to the Chicken McNugget. They became a regular menu item in 1988 after the success of the McNugget, however were removed for a short time again from 1996–1997. They have been on the menu permanently since late 1997. Why do they “taste so good to people”? While that is a very subjective question, as people all have varying tastebuds and senses, the common-sense answer to this question is that for the price (often $1-$1.50), the sandwich is a very attractive product price wise, with some people willing to just deal with the taste because of the price and gradually begin to like it due to taste acclimation, and other people genuinely enjoying the breaded fried chicken sandwich that is topped with lettuce and mayonnaise and stuffed in between two buns. In addition to being a chicken product (a staple in many diets globally), the sandwich is also very versatile in its uses and meal options. As part of a cultural phenomenon in the United States, a unique “hidden menu” item, often requested around the 12–2am time period by the drunks and bar crowds is the “McGgBg”, a sandwich which consists of McChicken Sandwhich stuffed inside of a McDouble sandwhich. In addition, the patties can be ordered by themselves, and even crumbled on top of salads by request. There are also several regional and limited time only variations of the sandwhich. These include the spicy McChicken, a teriyaki chicken McChicken, a Hot N Spicy McChicken, a sesame seed McChicken, and a BBQ Sauce McChicken among many other flavorings. In large part, the McChicken is enjoyed by so many, because McDonalds allows it to be customizable as well as playing on cultural and regional taste...
Read moreFor a working professional like myself who resides on the autism spectrum, this USED to be my go to place. For five years I have been loyally patronizing this location. Being that I harbor utter disdain for coffee, Starbucks did not qualify as a lounging option. This location became the place where I could work on my laptop and enjoy their menu.
During my patronage era, I have always treated the staff with utmost respect, I have kept to myself and I have always maintained a pleasant demeanor. Though I'm not a drive-thru person, I even continued to patronize this location during the two-year dining room shutdown. I was pleased to see that the lobby had been once again opened for business.
Today, the manager summarily told me to leave because of a thirty-minute dining time limit. Mind you, a no-loitering sign has been hanging there for years, but never had been enforced. For years, many of the elderly patrons as well as people like myself would enjoy the environment, food, and service this facility offered. A true coffee-house vibe in some ways.
I was surprised. Asked to leave? I was quietly penning a novel on my laptop, and I was the ONLY patron occupying the dining area. After all the years and money I have spent here, I thought she was joking. She wasn't. There was also no incident to warrant this, no provocation. I was beyond offended. However, I left without incident.
I calculated the money I have spent there over the years and it is sad knowing that they will miss out on future revenue being that I refuse to patronize this location ever again.
Please note, that for except this incident, the staff has usually been complimentary and professional. I wish no ill will on...
Read moreDisappointed this visit for curbside pickup, after waiting 10-15mins in the reserved parking spot, finally an employee brought my order. Annoying to say the least, but I checked my order and my fish fillet was lukewarm and fries weren’t fresh, unsalted, and only half full! I went inside expecting an apology and reorder, but instead. I entered and there were at least 5 other customers waiting for service. Long story short requested assistance and was ignored. I saw a red headed lady (mgr) waved and she turned away. I asked her name and she stated, good luck with that and continued to walk away. I then asked for a mgr and was sent the same guy that brought food to me outside! Unbelievable, I told him to send a real manager. He obliged, but prior begged me to let him personally redo my food. WHAT?! No. Then Becky appears, she was professional and listened to my concerns. She apologized and remade it. All ended well, she requested I comeback and they’d do better. I appreciated her reassurance that it would be addressed. (I didn’t mention it was a racial tone, bc that line didn’t start moving until a Caucasian man came in complaining about his soft drink wasn’t cold enough) He told me he saw me come in from the parking lot. Another observation was management and employees primarily service the drive through NOT lobby customers. That’s a conflict, change to drive through only....
