Classic Coney Grill — Restaurant in Hazel Park

Classic Coney Grill: Ok the secret is out because I am going to tell! This is not a drive by place this is where you want to stop and eat delicious food often! I had a grilled chicken wrap which was excellent and a side of homemade lemon rice soup which honestly was to die for- from my first to last spoonful it was truly tasty! There was such an abundance of food on my plate I teased the waiter- that he needed to sit down and share it with me! (He said he had already eaten lunch lol!) The French fries were perfect too and there was so much on my plate I took 1/2 of it home. My boyfriend had the meatloaf special - there were 4 slices of meatloaf- mashed potatoes and gravy and I think a side vegetable however I was so busy with my enjoyment of my meal I didn't notice. He said that it was very good! And he also had a side salad that was just-picked flavor fresh! Honestly the best part was Edward our server- he was extremely polite, fast and efficient however he had such positive energy that the whole room almost glowed. I asked if I could do a review and both Andrew our chef and Edward posed for a quick photo. I don't say chef nonchalantly Andrew made the food as a dare I say gourmet professional chef! Two young men and the restaurant was spotlessly clean and fresh, again our food was excellent, and they both were so polite! I also took a photo of the large meeting area and will keep it in mind for a go to place. Thinking maybe a wedding or baby shower, or a family gathering, or business meeting. Despite me giving Classic Coney Grill two stars, this place really is not that bad. The food is quite good for the low price, and the staff is friendly, besides one of the servers. My friends and I were served by Gloria, who immediately made us feel uncomfortable by making a big deal about which table we were sitting at. Because two of the five in our group were not at the restaurant yet, Gloria was not okay with us sitting at a six-seat table. That's fine, if there is only three of us, but when we said we're expecting two more, she got flustered because we weren't sure how long they would take.

After our two friends arrived, Gloria made a bigger deal about how we ordered coffee at different times (two ordered right away, one more ordered when he arrived, and then the other who arrived later ordered coffee with his meal). She actually lectured us about how she "has to be running back and forth, getting us coffee while the place was busy". It wasn't busy. Also, don't tell us you're running back and forth giving you coffee when three of your coworkers also came up to our table to offer coffee while you're standing behind the counter talking to your manager and pointing at us. Overall, Gloria was very rude, condescending, and made everything uncomfortable.

Let me start off by letting everyone know how disappointed I am in Classic Coney Grill. The first time I went there I was pleased to see it was family run and appeared to be cared about. Then this happened. I called in my order so I didn't have to wait to long. My boyfriend and I walked in, no one greeted us or asked if we were dining in or had take out. We stood by the register and watched while 1 man was given his order and paid, another couple was making jokes with the waitress and received their food, another man came in behind us sat down was greeted by 3 different waitresses and was able to order his food. The whole time we were standing right there and still no one said anything to us. Not a hello, have you been helped, are you waiting..nothing. the straw that broke the camels back for us is, not only was our food done as we watched it get bagged and 3 waitress looked at us but said nothing, as we were getting fed up a lady came from dining in to pay her bill stood next to us, a waitress came up said here I can take that for you and proceeded to cash her bill out as if we weren't even their.
