Let me start by saying the food was absolutely amazing! All the food was plated nicely and the portions were perfect. I mainly follow a vegan, whole foods based diet with occasional cheat days. I had the Greens and Grains bowl, which was excellent and that says something about this spot since the holy grail of the Love Shack is their meat options. My bro-in-law had the BBQ Sampler and I was immediately jealous and questioning my decision for it not to be an impromptu cheat day. You could have slid the bone out of the ribs. That’s how tender and succulent the meat was and that’s not an exaggeration. The pulled pork, which was enjoyed in a pulled pork sandwich that my wife absolutely loved and pulled pork nachos my sister-in-law said was fantastic. My step son had the cheeseburger and I would love to tell you how that looked but it was gone before I had a chance so sounds like that was a winner as well. Unfortunately everyone was so excited to dig in we failed to take pics but I’ll post some the next time we stop in.
Anytime a new restaurant opens its doors for the first time you expect there to be some hiccups or things they will work out with service especially. We did not experience any of these things. Our waitress Niki was so pleasant and went above and beyond with menu explanations along with making killer Cosmos and a Honeymoon Margarita.
We loved the atmosphere and the cozy, welcoming feel of The Love Shack. It is on the smaller side but that’s not a negative in anyway. It is a perfect place to bring a date or gather with friends with that down home, New...
Read moreWe had an AMAZING dinner at The Love Shack. It was our first visit, however it won’t be our last. I have been wanting to try this fairly new restaurant for a while. Shame on me for not coming sooner. It’s a gem and we had a phenomenal experience! We were warmly greeted upon our arrival and given an indoor or outdoor option. We decided to eat outdoors and we were escorted to their backyard beer garden. What a fun, casual vibe with live music too! The menu is full of mouthwatering apps, tacos, and grilled and BBQ offerings..it reminded me of a restaurant we frequented in Nashville. Who knew one could experience this high quality of BBQ in little Rhody? They offer a great cocktail menu too. I started with the Paloma, which was delicious. I decided on the BBQ rib & rice bowl and my husband had the ahi tuna bowl. They were both out-of-this-world scrumptious and generous, consisting of coconut rice, and pickled red onions and carrots. The ribs were the BEST I ever ate, truly exceptional! We ended with the chocolate chip ice cream sandwich cookie, which we ate with gusto! We met the owner, as well, who is beyond nice and most hospitable. You could feel the love!! ❤️ It makes us want to return again and again to support nice people. We’ll be back soon to try the pulled pork, burgers, mac and cheese, corn bread, pretzels,...
Read moreThis review is very much a work in progress, and I will go back and hope to revise it. The restaurant has just opened and this fact is very apparent. They are trying hard, but still have a bit of that first week Chaos going on. The food was very good, we had the chicken and waffles and the pulled pork sandwich. Fries could be better, but that is nitpicking. My biggest issue, and this is a weird one, is the draft beers are tiny. I’ve never seen such a thing, especially in recent times. The restaurant branded glasses might be 12 ounces…? I assume they must be because I can’t imagine they would charge $10 for a 10 ounce beer. Not to mention that my first beer showed up half foam. Go to any restaurant like this one in the area and the beers are served in pints or even 20 ounce imperial pints (except when you’re talking about a very high alcohol or rare beer.) For a beer and barbecue place they simply must figure this part out. Either serve your beers in a proper glass and in a proper size or charge a whole lot less. (for what it’s worth the wine and cocktails appeared to be...
