Cosmic Cafe — Restaurant in Warsaw

As a Benton county native, I was excited to introduce my husband to a fun quaint local business. As a longtime Electric cooperative employee, I was thrilled to try a "Best of Rural Missouri" awarded eatery. Upon entry, we were prompted to seat ourselves, but waited an inordinate amount of time for menus to be brought. Cosmic Cafe's menu looked eclectic & yummy, but some items were unavailable & the waitress didn't offer the slightest apology. In fact, we seemed like a hassle to her. My husband's panini was only lukewarm & the lunchmeat was so tough & gristly he could barely chew it. We waited for our ticket, but it never came & we weren't sure if we were to go up to the counter to request it or not, so we did & got the heck out. A couple who was entering as we were walking out was turned away because the cafe was purportedly closing. It was 1:40pm. Google said the closing time was 3pm. UPDATE: I can understand if your horseradish sauce is different than traditional sauce. No worries. What you might rethink is the attitude of your server who was rude and who acted annoyed with us. I wasn’t being difficult; I just asked for more sauce. Apparently that annoyed her. I will say the sandwich was quite good as was everyone els’s meal at the table. Thank you.

I ordered the Nostradamus which was supposed to come with horseradish sauce. Once served, the horseradish sauce was not with the sandwich. I asked for it and was told it was already on the sandwich. It clearly was not so I asked for more. Twice. It took awhile, but they brought it out—it wasn’t even horseradish sauce; it was chipotle mayo. Visited Cosmic cafe yesterday for breakfast. The resturant was very clean and had a great atmosphere. Our waitress was excellent, friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu. There were 2 in our party and we both ordered omlets. The food was very good but arrived at our table hot on the outside and cold on the inside. I tried the potatoe casserole it was hot but it is not what I exspected. It was good but I would not order it again. Hashbrown potatoes were cold when they arrived. We had biscuits and gravy instead of toast. Gravy was ok biscuits were dry even with gravy. When it was brought to the waitresses attention she said she would mention it to the cook. They did not offer to make it right. And had the waitress checked on us sooner it would have been brought to her attention sooner. The price was fair and the coffee was good.
