Exceptional Food and Service! Highly Recommended!
Wonderful place for an excellent dinner. From the front door to the back door, service was amazing. We were greeted by Val who seated us, brought us a warm loaf of bread and for dipping a small dish of herbed Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Val checked on us throughout the night. Our waiter was John, a great waiter, friendly and super knowledgeable of the menu and the list of specials for the evening . John was very attentive to my wife and I the entire night.
Mauricio, the Chef Owner prepared exceptional dishes all night.
My wife and I shared , the appetizer, Involtini Di Melanzane. The sauce was fresh and delicious, the melted mozzarella had such a wholesome light creamy mellow flavor, the warmed herbed ricotta played so well with the perfectly sliced and cooked eggplant, as it all melted in our mouth with every bite. Next we got a Caesar salad, again to share. The Caesar is a large salad and the dressing is so good.
Val brought my wife and I a delicious complimentary bruschetta dish from Chef Mauricio, drizzled with a balsamic glaze.
For our entrees, my wife ordered the Farfalle Al Salmone. Perfectly pan seared cuts of wild salmon in a delicious creamy vodka sauce with fresh green peas all tossed together and served over bowtie pasta. I had one of the specials for the evening that was offered in two sauces , I choose the Fra Diavalo sauce. The special was a Rissoto alla Pescatora. A refined course, a classic that contains all the flavors of the sea: squid, clams, shrimp, and mussels to create a delicately rich dish. The Arborio rice was tentatively cooked to a creamy, velvety, tenderness but still firm to the bite without crunch. The squid was so tender the shrimp were pleasant and juicy with a hint of sweetness the clams and mussels tasted like they just popped open and still in their sweet brine. Mauricio’s seafood risotto recipe is infused with a number of fresh herbs, imparting remarkable flavour into the risotto rice base.
For dessert we settled for simplicity. My wife ordered the triple layer chocolate mouse. It was velvety smooth and sweet, so delicious. I opted for a double espresso and a cannoli. The cannoli shell was so good, crunchy yet airy and the cannoli filling was delicious.
A wonderful night out, we were treated so well by Val and John. If you are looking for exceptional service and incredible food this is the place for you. You definitely get what you pay for here. We are looking forward to...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try Paradiso after we saw the great reviews online. As we walked into the restaurant we noticed a very bad sewer-like smell that permeated through the small dining room. It should have been our cue to walk out, but we decided to stay hoping that it would dissipate. We were greeted by a nice, very polite waitress. We ordered the Calamari appetizer, which was delicious. For the main dish, my wife ordered the Penne alla Vodka, which was also delicious, but very pricey. I ordered Gnocchi di Pomodori and requested Italian sausage on the side. When the dish was served, the sausage was mixed in, and the waitress asked if that was ok. Even though it was not what I requested, I told her that it should be fine. Much to my surprise, the sauce was not the pomodori that I expected but a very spicy fra diavolo sauce that I could not enjoy. I tried to eat some of my meal and when the waitress returned to the table, I called to her attention the kitchen error. She apologized, and I told her that I did not want to take the leftovers, but asked her to let the kitchen know. She returned and offered a free dessert and subsequently a 10% discount for a future visit, we declined both. I saw the chef come out of the kitchen and called him to our table. I mentioned the bad smell, and he said that it was coming from the outside and through the restroom. I also mentioned to him the error in my dinner, for which he apologized. The bottom line is that we spent about $100 for an appetizer and two plates of pasta - one good and one horribly bad. The restaurant apparently is having plumbing issues, and definitely not an ideal dining experience! My recommendation...
Read moreWow, what a nice little place in Jamison PA. It is under new ownership, and the place was packed when we arrived. We did make reservations in advance, and I would highly recommend reservations with how busy they were. They are also a BYOB, which we love.
The people working here are so nice and attentive. A basket of bread with olive oil and seasoning will greet you when you first order. We ordered a couple of appetizers to start. A fried zucchini dish, and an antipast plate were our choice as a table. They were both delicious and pictured in my review. My daughter and son both ordered the chicken parm for dinner, and they both said it was delicious. They were cooked perfect and the red sauce had an excellent flavor to it. Those dishes come with penne pasta. My wife ordered the steak and again it was cooked perfect and came with some veggies. My chicken marsala was the highlight of the night. I've had many a chicken marsala in my day, and the taste of this meal was to perfection. The portion was big, the sauce had a nice consistency to it, and the taste was out of this world. It also came on a bed of linguini.
It was such a nice evening. I like places like this because we had time to enjoy our meal, our wine, and the company. We weren't rushed out by having our food forced on us like a lot of chain places do that are looking for the quick turnover. I also love that we are giving back to a "mom and pop" place.
DEFINITELY A MUST TRY if you are in the mood for a great...
