La Imperial Taqueria — Restaurant in Wasco

I ate dinner here on Friday night. It was hot and we didn’t want to sit in the house and eat. We came to La Imperial Taqueria. First thing I noticed is the parking lot is a really good size and you should have no issues finding a spot. They had a cool covered outdoor area to eat, but since it was 100+ degrees that day we went inside. Inside was simple and clean. No frills but I felt like they really kept things clean. The lady at the service window asked if it was to go or dine in. We said dine in and she said to take a seat and some menus and she would be with us in a moment. We sat and she was at our table within a few minutes as she had to handle another customer. We ordered (I had the Camaron Ala Diabla and my girlfriend had the Chili Relleno Burrito. My food was very good and my girlfriend said the burrito was very hot and as soon as it cooled down she enjoyed it. We attempted to pay using the QR code on the check, but you have to download an app so we paid at the counter instead. The lady who helped us was very nice and friendly. I just went and dined at the new location on Hwy 43. They didn't bring all our food all at once. My grandson's food arrived first and started getting cold before ours came to the table. We ordered the famous "asada fries" that came with old and dried out asada meat chopped up and thrown on top and the fries were already getting cold. They just decorated it so nicely to cover the neglect to not cook fresh product. Everything is supposed to be hot, especially if you are eating in person. We paid over $75 for four meals and drinks and still returned home hungry. We at first chose a table in the patio and came back inside because when we sat at a table next to the garden wall it smelled so bad wreaking of urine. We definitely won't be going back there for a long while, if ever again. It's a shame that the plates look and come better when you order it on the door dash app. They should never be different from one ordering experience...

I am leaving this review not because of the food, which is good, but because of the service. This is now the third time I’ve come in two hours before closing, and I’ve been told they won’t take my order because “everything is already turned off.” I’ve also tried calling ahead to place an order, but instead of helping, they made me wait on the line while I could hear staff laughing in the background.

On top of that, the girls working the front are extremely rude, and even the older lady who cooks shows the same attitude. I’m not trying to be a Karen, but this was really disappointing.

This used to be one of my favorite spots to eat, but because of the way customers are treated, I’m seriously considering no longer coming here. It’s unfortunate to see a place with good food lose loyal customers due to...
