Santucci's Original Square Pizza — Restaurant in Washington Township

I hate writing a bad review because I truly do enjoy Santucci’s pizza. However something about the associates at this location didn’t sit right with me. The “dine-in” situation is new to me (which by no means was the issue) however when I walked in and they asked what I wanted, my girlfriend and I were unsure so we hung back and looked at the menu. After we figured out what we wanted we went up to order. There were three people at the register (one girl was on a phone taking an order and the other two were standing and talking). I walked up to the open register and even though I was standing there she completely ignored me. She was talking about some other people but I am certain it wasn’t about work and it seemed more like gossiping about her personal life. Regardless I waited for her to finish talking to her coworker. In the meantime, I was standing directly in front of her register and she even made direct eye contact multiple times but chose to ignore me and continue the conversation. After about a minute of her talking to the coworker she asked what I was ordering. As someone who has worked in costumer service, I simply do not understand the blatant disrespect and entitled mindset you need to have to treat a costumer like that. I have never experienced that in my life before. When the people brought our food to the table they dropped it off without saying anything except “the plates are inside if you want any” and then walking away without giving me a chance to say anything. Now I do understand that this location doesn’t have the traditional dine-in set up that most restaurants do but I saw every single table around me get plates, napkins and spice/ketchup holders brought out to them by the same workers without request. It was just a little uncomfortable to say the least because I consistently felt as though the workers didn’t even want me there. I know there is a worker shortage but that’s no excuse to hire people that can’t even do the bare minimum. That being said I really do love Santucci’s pizza and have been going to their philly locations since I was a little girl. I was thrilled for this location to open but left with embarrassment as I could not tell you why I wasn’t treated with same respect (or any to be honest) as the other costumers were. I’ve been a customer since “O” street in Philly. The pizza is great but my problem is your management. I’ve known so many young people in Washington Twp who got hired( some with experience) and then were fired via text message for no other reason that they over hired! These kids were only paid 10$ and hour and you taxed their tip!!!! Spoke to the labor board and this is illegal. Management continuously threatened to lower their wages to “waitress” wages if anyone questioned their hourly rate. The high school is currently telling any student who comes in for working papers NOT to work at your establishment as it is a hostel work environment. I will no longer patronize your establishment and will visit Knights road as they don’t have issues there. New management or more training is needed in Washington Twp if you want to remain here. I received your response and not one thing I stated was false. I have copies of the text messages that were sent to your employee ‘s group text. Maybe I should just publish them. Santuccis has always been one of my favorite pizza places. I decided to ordered catering from there for my sons 1st birthday and we got a mix of some pizzas, a sandwhich tray, and a Stromboli tray. Prior to today, I only ever ate their pizzas but omg was I missing out. We got SO many people raving over the sandwhiches and strombolis and asking where we got there. Everything was absolutely delicious. I was also SO impressed by the customer service with this order. Everything was fresh and ready on time, everything was brought out to my car and they even asked me if I needed extra sides (sauces) and provided me with a generous sized container of each.
