ame with my family to enjoy the outdoor dinning at atmosphere on the water. Originally told we would have to wait 15 minutes, and luckily got seated virtually right away. Our food was really good with lots of flavor, and some of the best we've had of our usual plates.
Unfortunately, I do have a couple of complaints. First, it did take 25 minutes to get drinks and by the time the staff did come around, we placed our food order and drinks at the same time. We also requested to have additional beans to our table, which we never got and just chucked it up as a loss once our food was dropped off. I did also notice, there were several tables sat after us that were placing their orders and were getting food by the time it came to placing just our drink order. Seemed like the focus was on larger groups, even though there was 4 of us. I can honestly say that with those things, we total looked passed to not ruin the experience for us!
But what did....the thing that killed it! let me start by saying AVOID THE TABLES CLOSEST TO THE BUILDING/WALL that just so happens to be right under a sewage pipe! We noticed the pipe on the exterior side of the building that runs right above your head. Someone must have flushed a toilet and we instantly got the horrendous smell of POOP/SEWAGE! By the second time in 5 minites, it was unbearable so we asked the staff if we could move tables. The thought of eating with that smell was too much for us. The gentleman told us to move, and pretty much said it's a complaint they get very often. Which sucks because it's something outside of their control and the responsibility of whoever owns the building. Unfortunately, they have to suffer for it.
Overall, food was really good and the staff...
Read moreIf you have severe food allergies (particularly coeliacs or dairy), avoid this place (and most of Mason County restaurants tbh) even in extreme hunger. It won’t be helped here safely. Covid surge has hit here recently, so we order take out. {Mistake 1.} We tell whoever is taking our order we have severe allergies and list them. We triple check everything we order- 2 items and a side of guac- is safe for that list. Told yes and believe them. {Mistake 2.} Finally get order much longer than promised and don’t check it cuz it’s a 40 min drive back home and who wants hot food spilling everywhere in the middle of a heat wave. {Mistake 3.} Get home to find both dinner orders contain severe allergens. (My dish contained several flour tortilla instead of corn, chicken instead of beef, and cheese on everything- somebody call me an ambulance if I ate that!!) Spouse calls back restaurant thinking they will make it right. {Mistake 4.} After multiple people passing the phone off, the best they offer are gift certificates (completely useless to me at this point, cuz this is the second time this restaurant has tried to poison me with my order) which I will still have to drive over 40 minutes away to get. And tonight I still have no dinner after all that hassle and out $60. Never wasting my time or money here again which is heartbreaking, cuz I love supporting fellow Mexican-run businesses in our small community. I get it, dinner rushes in a heat wave suck; but so does your one meal out in several months being...
Read moreThis is one of my family's favorite Mexican restaurants in all of Washington State! We've been known to drive 45 minutes from home, partially to see the surrounding scenery, but also just to eat here.
Atmosphere: The staff is friendly and willing to answer questions about the menu, tailor your order to your preferences, and offer recommendations. All staff wore masks and seemed to be taking COVID-19 precautions seriously. The restaurant overlooks the hood canal, and the patio eating area is literally feet away from the beach! There are two single-person restrooms. Tape was put on the floor to mark out a waiting area with social distancing.
Menu: Some of our favorites include the mushroom salsa and bean dip they serve with the chips, crab enchilladas, and borrego. I also like their enchijitas, a combination between an enchilada and a taquito/burrito. It's hard to describe, but it's delicious! They have a full drinks menu with a wide variety of cocktails. Last time we went, I enjoyed a pina colada with guava mixed in, and they made a custom fresh-squeezed margarita for my mom because she...
