Bobs Burgers in Burlington: Letting Kids Go Hungry.
UPDATE 5/16/19 My husband spoke with the district manager who called him personally. Apologized & said that the young man lied, that they can turn on the burners whenever and with in 1 min they're hot and ready to go. He said that he will be "Lighting fires" today & that he has some major talks to handle. He apologized again & said that should have never happened. He is mailing us a Bob's Burger Gift Card in hopes that we may try it one more time. It was nice they followed through & called us. It helps that we feel heard by the management & that our boy should have gotten his food & that they apologized sincerely.
Never ever in my life have I had such terrible service. The sad thing was, the food was actually not bad.
We decided to give Bob’s Burgers one last try since we had never been to the Burlington location. We walked in waited about 5min for someone to notice us, which our hostess/server, was so sweet and kind. We ordered our food which was pleasant. Our 8 yr old son ordered a kid’s burger with just mustard & ketchup. It came gooping with mustard & ketchup everywhere (literally plopping out of the bun), didn’t make a big deal just wrapped a napkin around it & crossed my mommy fingers. He bit into it & tasted mayo, he asked for a new burger. Ok no problem. We saw mayo in it & had to flag down someone. We got our server told her if we could get a new one, because of the mayo & maybe a little less mustard and ketchup this time around she said “no problem” all was good. Until...
She came back with the same plate we gave her and the same burger, she said that the cook was refusing to remake the burger as he has shut off the burners and won’t turn them back on. We were so surprised, shocked and dumbfounded at the fact that a cook won’t remake a burger, let alone a KIDS burger, really??!!!!
So we asked for the manager “there’s not one here as she’s gone home for the night already.” Then I lost my appetite as I barely had a bite to eat of my food. I said we are finished please check us out. She said she would comp the kids burger. Then I asked why won’t they just remake a KIDS burger? She just sadly shrugged her shoulders. I asked if we could speak to the cook. She was surprised but she said sure. Out walks a young guy about 19, his name is Dawsen, followed by what looked like an other young guy around 17-18, named Trevor, who hovered three booths away from us, watching.
We asked him why he wouldn’t make a kids burger if he got it wrong. Arms crossed he said “I’ve already shut the burners off and we just cook with whatever comes up on the screen. We won’t make it again.” Shoulders shrugged. We couldn’t believe at how rude his customer service was and all the while the other guy hiding his mouth from laughing in the background. Of course we were very upset at this point, we couldn’t believe it. I said you got the burger wrong, you can’t remake it? He said “we cook whatever comes up on the screen and I can’t turn the burners back on” I said “so it’s not your fault the burger was wrong and it’s not your fault you can’t remake a KIDS burger.” He refused to offer any compensation, refuse to make a cold sandwich, refused to offer anything for our son. Just said nope, won’t do it. We left it at that and they chuckled on their way back to the kitchen.
Our server was, Tia, was so sweet apologizing and we were livid. I ended up just asking for our entire meal to be comped due to their terrible attitude and service. I couldn’t believe it. Yeah ok a persons burger I get it but a KIDS?!
She took care of our meal and we left very upset and took our boy on a walk to Jack In The Box where they gave better service, a better hamburger & in half the time.
Yesterday I called their manager, Lena, told her what happened and that we will never step foot into an other Bob’s Burgers again. She apologized & we are now seeing how they are going to resolve this situation as she said she will be contacting us back. We shall see...

Slept on my last visit a few days before posting a review. Ultimately I have decided not to come back. I'll drive a little further next time.
Last visit I came in for a drink and an appetizer for happy hour with a friend. Pretty standard stuff. Was seated quickly but after 20ish minutes had to flag someone down so I could order drinks. It didn't look busy but maybe it was shift change or something. I ordered a drink that was on tap, 10ish minutes later got a can. Whatever, at least it's cold, no worries. Ordered an appetizer, nachos and I added meat and guacamole. Came with no meat, no salsa, no sour cream and no guac. Asked for the stuff that was missing, added it to the nachos once I got it. Sweet, beer and nachos, things are good I'm happy. Hung out, caught up with my friend and then it was time to get on with things. Got the check, but instead of a happy hour discount, I got a happy hour surcharge. Happy hour "discount" was added to the bill instead of subtracted. Flagged someone down again, asked politely about happy hour discount, got it straightened out, so meh whatever accidents happen. Paid in cash to avoid the credit card fee Bob's charges. Had to request change back... Finally got change back, but the receipt was gone now... Not really a big deal, this wasn't a business lunch or anything but if I'm being honest I kinda wanted to double check I got the correct change at this point... Eh, enough is enough, left a tip and moved on.
Thanks for the cold drink, but yeah it's time for us to see...
Read moreWe stopped in for lunch. Not super busy, but a five minute wait to be seated, no worries I totally understand. The Hostess seats us, your server will be with you. Cool. And we wait......and then we wait........and then we wait some more. Over five minutes for our server to take a drink order. She shows up, we give our drink order. She then asks if we are ready to order food. We ask for a couple more minutes. Que visible eye roll, fake annoyed smile and walk off. Drinks take five minutes to arrive, and they are brought to us with a slam on the table and a walk off. The server walks by us three times before we can flag her down and ask to order food. The food took 25 minutes to show up and the fries and JoJo's are cold. The Hostess is the one who brought us the food. Our server walks by four times clearly ignoring the empty drink glasses on our table. When we are done eating the server, for the first time since the Hostess brought us our food, the server asks if we need anything. I ask for refills, and a box for left overs. 10 minutes later the requested things arrive at our table. Before I have a chance to ask for the check the server bolts to the back, disappears for 15 minutes, walks past us trying to flag her down for the check. Finally get her to bring the check, pull my card out to pay and she disappears again. Finally after another 10 minutes the Hostess sees we are clearly upset, and grabs the check to bill us out. Over all, the service was TERRIBLE. Food was...
