🌟 A Must-Visit Gem in Tacoma – Dukes Seafood with Devin as Your Guide to Perfection! 🌟 This was our very first visit to Dukes Seafood in Tacoma—and only our second time in the city—and wow, what a way to be welcomed! We chose Dukes based on its stellar Google reviews and our deep love for seafood, but nothing could’ve prepared us for the exceptional experience we had. One name you must remember: Devin. Devin, Devin, Devin. She was the heartbeat of our evening and the reason we’ll be coming back again and again. From the moment we sat down, Devin’s customer service was flawless. As someone who works in the customer service industry, I can confidently say she nailed it—100% spot on. Her warmth, attentiveness, and perfectly timed interactions made our dining experience feel personal, effortless, and unforgettable. She struck the ideal balance between professionalism and charm, making us feel like VIPs without ever being overbearing. If you're heading to Dukes Tacoma, do yourself a favor and request Devin’s section. You’ll thank me later. 🍽️ Now, the food—oh, the food! • Crab Cakes: Just as advertised—barely any “cake,” and bursting with rich, flavorful crab meat. • Clam Chowder: I ordered a cup and instantly regretted not getting a bowl. Creamy, savory, and packed with flavor. • Rockfish Tacos: My wife’s choice, and they were loaded with meat. She only ordered one, and thank goodness—because we were stuffed and staying in a hotel with no way to store leftovers. • Salmon Sandwich: Fresh veggies, warm salmon, and layers of flavor that danced on the palate. Absolutely divine. • Blackberry Margarita: This cocktail deserves its own spotlight. Sweet, dangerously smooth, and totally delicious. It tasted like Kool-Aid—but with a kick. So glad we Ubered! Every dish was a hit. Not a single misstep. The ambiance, the flavors, the service—it all came together to create a dining experience that felt like a celebration. 🙏 Thank you, Dukes Seafood, and thank you, Devin, for turning a simple dinner into a memory we’ll cherish. We’re already planning to return before we leave town, and we’ll be telling everyone we know: If you’re in Tacoma, Dukes is a must-stop—and Devin is the one to...
Read moreThis is a terrific find on the Tacoma waterfront. Not at all what we were expecting but quite happy that we found it. We were in for an early dinner and it wasn’t too busy but by the time we left, it was really getting packed! The restaurant is nicely segmented so there was a cozy feel but they have spaces that were capable of holding a larger group. We got an excellent table by a window with a lovely view of the waterfront. Our server was quite attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, walking through our myriad questions with patience. Appetizer was the maple bacon seafood bites. One scallop and one shrimp wrapped in bacon with a bacon glaze. Yum. I opted for the three course meal, soup, salad, and entree. Soup was the Lobster Mobster chowder and it was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Warm, smooth, rich, creamy. The salad was the Sweet Caper Spinach Salad, a wonderful combination of bacon, almonds, chopped eggs, and tomatoes over baby spinach leaves with a slightly sweet, slightly tart vinaigrette. My entree was the two piece Oh My Cod & chips. Pretty hefty slabs of fish very lightly breaded and fried to perfection. Super moist fish, plenty tender, and the dill tarter was the perfect compliment. If I had a beef with this, I could have used about 50% more ‘chips’. They were just average French fries and the only way to improve is to offer a few more of them. My wife’s meal was the Prawn, Scallop & Crab “Un”Cake Mixed Grill. The only thing I sampled here was the “un” cake (crab cake). This is hands down the best I have ever had. No doubt, 100% exceptional. This is so good they have crabs lining up to give their life for this cake!! Two amazing flavorful sauces with this, too. Be aware, this is not cheap eats but it’s a fine value for the dining dollar when combining all the elements of food, atmosphere, service,...
Read moreWhere to even begin? Another FANTASTIC meal on the west coast! Our waiter, Wade, was amazing. He added so much to the experience and I am very grateful for his energy and care. He handled my nut allergy with perfect attention. I felt very comfortable, and knew he had me in mind. He made sure all three dishes that came to the table were safe for me to eat without me asking. He was funny, and ontop of everything. So, thank you so much Wade! ☮️🫰
Next, the food. It was amazing. Everything is fresh, local, and carefully thought out. My mom isn't a seafood fan, but their non-seafood options are amazing! The meat for her burger came from a farm 40 miles away, never frozen, and yes you can tell. My mom said it was one of the best burgers she has ever had. We hail from the Midwest, so that's saying something.
We got the dungeoness deviled eggs and the prawn devilled eggs (AMAZING)
We tried a dingy sized bowl of their famous award winning clam chowder (a must). I appreciate the small bowl option (5 dollar). Even my non-fish loving momma liked the clam chowder! That should speak volumes.
My friend got their stuffed lobster tail. A beautiful dish cooked perfectly, delicious!
I got their salmon sandwich 😭 I will forever dream of that sandwich. It was also perfectly cooked. I think the only thing that would have added to the sandwich would have been a hint of lime. (That's me being picky and I'm sure our waiter would have been more than happy to grab a wedge if I asked).
I also got their wild blackberry marg (fantastic!) the blackberries in it are locally sourced and ripe.
Icing on the cake was two things. The fresh in house sour dough that appearantly just turned 32, and the location. We sat right off the bay, the inside is beautiful! I cannot recommend this place enough. It was worth every penny...
