Po Cafe closed. Thought to try this place. I doubt there will have be effective changes as long as the line is out the door. Right off the bat, a couple with 2 small children leave the table, we sit and I request it be cleaned. Spilled drinks, oatmeal strewn across the table. Within minutes our food arrives? The server literally placed our drinks and chili bowls ON TOP of the smooshed (previous guests) oatmeal. Two servers did not speak NOR understand English…THIS IS NOT COOL. Could not comprehend me asking for the table to be cleaned. Eyesight must’ve been horrible too, to not notice that he put our dishes on top of Oatmeal. So, my daughter went to the car and we got our wipes from the car and wiped our own table. Pancakes, eggs and bacon tasted microwaved. It was not a pleasure. Vegetarian chili was very Good. Curry chicken salad was simply gross. Fall Salad gross. We will not come back I read the story about Marty on the wall and thought he might be very disappointed, considering all his passion and experience in this field! Do...
Read moreIt would have been five stars had the service been friendly. It is clear that a lot of thoughtfulness and love has gone into creating this charming little retreat, from the beautiful artwork on the walls to the delicious selection of baked goods. It’s a pity that the welcoming spirit of the place was not at all represented by the staff today. I realize it’s a Sunday before a holiday Monday, so they were probably keen to get home. Nonetheless, to start clearing up the place and putting tables on chairs over an hour before closing, with guests just seated and others still coming in, is pretty bad form in my opinion. Would have overlooked even that if there had been any friendliness from the staff, but sadly the only person smiling when I placed and received my order was me. Having said that, everything but the service was lovely and I’ll come back when I’m in the area again in the hope to catch the staff in a better mood. If you go for a coffee here, make sure to also check out the bookshop around the...
Read moreAbsolutely charming café, bustling with customers. Service was quick and friendly. A thoughtful menu, as well as lots of tempting grab-n-go options (like croissants, pastries and salads). Just looking at the menu, you can tell this business is intentional with what they serve. We had a Curried Chicken Salad wrap, that was loaded with every tasty lil nut-veggie-crunchy thing you could imagine. The Italian Tuna Salad Plate was delicate made with fresh light ingredients. The Peach Smoothie was refreshing and addictive. The Cappuccino was a solid good one. Everything tasted great - incredibly fresh and nuanced flavors. Staff hustles doing an incredible job keeping the line moving. In a state swarming with Dunkins and Starbucks, it's so nice to see small café’s cropping up again. Not just a place to grab a cuppa, it's a place to BE. Would recommend :) :) :)...
